Been drawing up some mock-ups for what would be the new weapon selection UI. Prolly gonna lurk around the forum to see how to implement them into the game. Which one is the best among the three in your opinion?

I like the first one best, although the text is blurry. I don't think the font in #3 is a good choice. It's hard to read. A bit more spacing between the letters would help.

Depends a bit on how much weapons you want to add. You should have a good idea because this affects your UI and UX.

Visually i like the second best because it has this Shmup Amiga vibe i personally like. It feels haptic and feels like i am choosing/installing a weapon system and not just "browsing" it.
The textfield is obviously too small though.

You could also show the player ship and the weapon attached to it shooting, instead or additionally of showing text.

Added a new HUD feature where XP progress for weapons to level up.
I wanted it to go from down to up but this works I guess.

For down to up, couldn't you negate the value for y?
Could also start with the highest value and work its way down.
Looking good all the same.

Game link updated.

Changelist (0.4.0)
-HUD upgrade (now shows weapon XP progress)
-Fix some more game-breaking bugs from the boss
-Adjusted the respawn system (you now have an invul timer)
-Weapon Armory fully implemented (all weapons unlocked for Stencyl test version. Normally you would need to beat the bosses to gain new weapons)

Notes:
Sorry for the inactivity. Took a short break and then it took me 2 or 3 weeks working on the weapon armory before I could get it in working condition. The next updates will be focused on "finishing" the boss fight and adding more weapons to the game.

Oh dear I set it on "Private" so maybe that's why you couldn't see it. Anyway, I fixed that now so please tell me if you still can't see it and I'll set the video in public instead. I'm still not used to how Youtube works.

The background is entirely made up using the Image API.
The HUD however is a mixture of both image API and actors.

Pardon my absence.
I was busy(+burnout) for the past months that I didn't work on the game during that period.
I only started working on it again in mid-april so I don't have much to show you.
So here's the little progress I can show:

The 1st boss is "finished". Aside from the needed HUD components for the boss, the boss is complete. Had to cut some attacks from the boss.
However I still have add more effects for the boss fight(the death cutscene for the boss and mini-bosses) so I hope this weekend I can get them implemented.

I still have to implement the boss' hp bar so I'm thinking of putting the hp bars of these games into mine and see if I can replicate it.

this type of game is just used to
admire the wallpaper skill, monster
or robot design with animation heh.
