Ohmy, even I didn't have such a mess, and always renamed copies once I've made them! XD

But yes, it's going to be a significant progress. Although I personally don't have problems with the logic used so far, it indeed will make some things easier. Probably in many cases I'll stick to the old model, anyway (sometimes I get a bit obsessive about control over the game logic :P), but I suppose I'll find it really useful in certain situations. ^^'

So, two questions:

1. When will 2.0 be officially released?

2. If I installed the nightly build, would it be possible to use the built-in updater to upgrade to newer builds/the finished 2.0?
In the event of a firestorm, the salad bar will remain open.

1) February. What you see here is a fraction of the changes for 2.0.

2) You'll need to redownload - we don't support upgrades from nightlies.

For StencylWorks 2.0, we'll plug holes and organize what we already have better, at least up to the standard of what we did for iStencyl.

Past 2.0... that's the huge initiative we'll talk about later this year.

Events should help a lot with the "exploding number of behaviors" problem I was talking about in the Extensions forum http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,1132.msg15973.html#msg15973. I'm looking forward to summer when I have more time again.

For those who are working with our nightly builds, these are some of the things we've added in the past few days.

- The Block Picker as we blogged about.
- Show/Hide the Events Pane
- Tweaks to the Events Pane UI / selector. I nixed some events which were duplicates of other events.
- Button to reveal the games folder from the Welcome Center
- Button to reveal the workspace folder from Preferences
- Lots and lots of bug fixes such as...


Duplicating Scene Bugs

- Conflicting duplicate names when duplicating same scene.
- Scene duplicate's events don't run until game reopened.
- Duplicate scene, which hasn't been opened, data not written to temp directory if test game/scene occurs before it is duplicated. Causes flash error during test game.
(Reproduced by creating scene, testing scene, duplicating, then retesting scene)

Saving Bugs

- Scene marked as clean when using Test Scene/Game.
- Cached scene not used when scene saved on closed and reopened. (Double check this one)
- Deleted scene doesn't delete event snippet
