Is it safe to just install the nightly "on top of" the official stable release? When will the bugfixes from the nightlies be incorporated into Stencyl proper? 3.0? Or will there be something like a "2.1.1" release?
In the event of a firestorm, the salad bar will remain open.

I didn't use the beta this time and I just used 2.1 for the first time, and this is awesome. :)
The inspector/inventory are just great. Especially actor customization is so much better now.

Once I upgraded to 2.1, the Video Actor behavior started failing.
Code: [Select]
Behavior: VideoActor_82 at line 59
Overriding a function that is not marked for override.
public function init():void
The syntax checker spit out that error.
But the actual line 59 looks like this:
Code: [Select]
override public function init():void
{
loadStream();
}
Is there any way to fix this, a workaround, or a newfangled way to insert actors? (I haven't used Stencyl since 1.3)

Thanks in advance.

Many good things we have since release of 2.0 version.
As we can see from the past, all that you doing is great!
But may be it seams strange but for last year, your great progress became a problem for me... I explain why.
After I heard that you plan to make native exe and html5 and plan to use hardware acceleration I'm just stuck in my work. Because the future is not known. For example, flash and or may be flixel have big problems with big screen size more than 800*600, problems with overlapping, rotated, stretched images. Also complex games with many images works jerky even when fps on 50-60 I don't know why it's just a fact.
But I guess after you will change the engine that Stencyl using for graphics, all this problems will gone.

So, I know that you want to make announcement about 3.0 soon and can you tell please in this new announce what we can wait from 3.0 in this aspects?
Will it be possible  to make large screensizes as in modern games? will it be possible to use many overlapping images, as one background under other, using images of object cracks, remains of enemies on the floor, particles on bullets and other visual effects, and will it be possible freely use mirrored and rotated sprites, in current engine this is hard to do, because even several images with altered properties can drop down fps from 60 to 30,so I can't make more than two rotated actors with rotated hands for example.

If you will give this information, I will make my game in view of new feature and make best possible results in future. As you understand if I make too large or too small sprites and tiles now, in future, if screensize will changing, I will need to remake all sprites and images, and of cause it is very not desirable

Publishing a WIP to Arcade seems invalid, too. Nevermind that, but some booleans are hard to compile with.

Another great job Stencyl team. The inspector is a great feature and I use it a lot.

I could have never imagined just how helpful the inspector feature would be, it makes level designing so much faster and more organized!!! Nearly every actor in a typical platform game needs to have customized behaviors (usually for things like movement parameters), so its great that that process has been made faster and more intuitive.
