Hey Innes, thank you very much for your offer.
I'll take you up on that and will send over my list of phrases, much appreciated!

Play helped me optimise the smoke, as my version kept killing the FPS the post is here, could be worth a read if you are experiencing a similar issue at all: http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,10004.0.html

You're welcome; I'd be pleased to help. Try to get the list to me as soon as possible; I will be very busy after this week!

I saw the 'smoke discussion'; It formed part of my inspiration!

Hi Innes
I sent it over this morning to XXXXXX (I can't attach screenshots to a PM on Stencyl) so I took a guess at your email account, please let me know if it doesn't arrive.

Nice web site btw! Really well designed!

If you look at the link in some of the earlier posts in this thread, there is very detailed information about how to create the smoke effect.

Hello zerosimms!

I need help!!

I am trying to do a game with a similar concept; please give me some help :)

can you tell me if you are using a huge scene with the player-actor at some speed in the right direction; or are you using the player-actor with no speed and the coins and other stuffs being created (aleatory) with left speed?

thanks in advance!

Hey

The game has been through a ton of changes, at one point it was one massive level. It's not now, now the rocketeer never actually moves forward, I give that impression by moving all the other objects towards him!

On another note, I've just uploaded my second update if you want to try it out: http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/12588   :-)

Good start for a rocketeer based runner game. It reminds me of an ios game "Jetpack joyride" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGxIpzzLo4k). Maybe you can add some elements of that game to your project, this would improve it a lot.

I can't speak for zerosimms, but I would make the objects move rather than the player, otherwise you'll eventually run out of level to travel in. It also cuts down on the overhead by having a small scene and destroying objects as they leave the screen, rather than putting them to sleep.
