Could you briefly summarize what you were doing? Specifically, what resource were you trying to download?

Greg was looking at this too. He was trying to download the Cutscene Pack. I don't believe we ever really got a response on whether this was solved or not. Last question asked was if it was only one particular game this happened on or multiple.

But I had left shortly after Greg asked him that.

Now that I look closer at it, it seems to be the same error as the other 2 reports today. The weird part is that the error has nothing directly to do with downloading.

Replace your sw.jar and let me know if this helps.

While I was unable to reproduce the problem (it seems OS specific), I sort of know what may be causing it.

I think I need more information than the logs can provide. Exactly, at what point do any errors pop up in the download process? Is it after it reaches 100% in the dialog? Does the dialog disappear, or does it stay on screen? Details like this will help me narrow this down.

Looking at your logs, your problem appears to be completely different. It appears that your computer is blocking StencylWorks from connecting to anything online (it flat out rejects chat and all forms of connecting to StencylForge).

I would suggest checking your firewall or proxy settings and allow StencylWorks / java to connect to the internet.

I have tried making exceptions, changing proxy settings and turning my firewall off, but still can't connect to the stencylforge, bloody Norton.

Another question - are you connecting from work, have to go through a proxy server, or are based in a country that's known to filter out content? It sounds similar to:

That user is based in Qatar where I assume some filtering may be happening, and one thing that worked for him/her was to use Hotspot Shield.

To answer your questions Jon, I am using my home computer and I'm from Australia so maby there might be some filtering, I don't know but I have Norton Internet Security and I know Norton pretty much blocks anything even if it's not a threat to my computer. From my last post I tried turning off Nortons network protection but I can't connect to Stencyl Forge. When I try to connect to Stencyl Forge it connects to the homepage but all the icons have the music symbol for behaviours and actors and such and trying to download any of those things does not work, and clicking on a sub category such as actors comes up with the error "Could not connect to Stencyl Forge".

One experiment you might want to try is to connect to a proxy server, or if you already have to do that with your web browser, that may be necessary.
