It's finally official!

Stencyl 2.0 Tutorial 1, the first tutorial of my new series, has officially won 3rd place in the weekly competition on Kongregate. To my knowledge, this is the first time a Stencyl-based submission has won any competition on Kongregate, and it hopefully helps people realize that Stencyl can be used to be create good programs. :)

The official email:

Hello Abigayl,
Congratulations, your game "Stencyl 2.0 Tutorial 1: Basics" placed 3rd in Kongregate's weekly contest and won a prize of $150.00! Way to go! Please be aware that contest payments like this won’t show up on your revenue report. Instead we’ll be sending the money to you directly, so just make sure your payment info is current and complete, and we’ll get your hard-earned spoils out to you in about four to six weeks. Congratulations on your achievement and thanks for submitting your game; we’re always happy to have such awesome games on Kongregate, and we’re well aware that devs like you make us great!

While I certainly don't deny it's a great boon for me, the reason I post it here is that some (especially on Kongregate) are under the impression that Stencyl can't produce anything of value, and this is a rather clear rebuttal to that thinking.

Did you mean "can't"? I'm not trying to be a pain; I just thought it was worth pointing out.
Do NOT PM me your questions, because I likely will not respond. If I have replied to your question on the forum, keep using that topic. Thanks!

Nice work Abs! Way to spread the Stencyl way of life.

May our Stencyl cult continue to expand until we can all one day drink the purple Koolaid together.

Thanks Dizko. You are the first one to offer feedback on that (which I thought was going to be a major thing for this tutorial).
