Stencyl 2.1 already auto-saves. The feature has been met with some ambivalence, mind.
it just should be an option to disable/enable it

Definitely. il make some pretty dangerous changes by accident/delete things and the only way to prevent this is to close out of the whole program and reload and hope your last checkpoint wasnt too far back.

There's a way you can disable it now; see page 9.

Flash and HTML5 exporting will be free under the exact same terms as today (showing a pre-game splash screen).

We will continue to offer a free, unlimited "trial" of other functionality.

One thing I didn't talk about is price - it's going to be extremely competitive/fair pricing for the Studio package, and current subscribers are going to get a sweet deal out of this.

This is the only reference I can see for pricing on 3.0,  I have a few questions:

1 - for existing iOS pro subscribers - I assume that iOS exporting on 3.0 won't change .e.g we don't have to pay extra?

2 - Will there be a Android Pro subscription, or something of the sort?  e.g. Mobile Pro (develops for iOS and Android)

3 - Im pretty sure I had a 3rd question, but totally forgot :S

Cheers,

so now another question

1- will there be a mobile package (MobilePro) for iOS and Android and maybe for future windows mobile. (for dev's who want to develop for both as opposed to just one) ,  or will they always be a seperate option?

We'll likely just offer an all-in-one package, rather than offer every possible combination. Existing subscribers will be able to upgrade to it, similar to how they can today.

Is a demo still going to be released in June or early July?

Actually, making my game right now, I wonder if every single environment supports some sort of buffered images. Specifically, I found BitmapData class from Flash to be extremely useful and it'd be great if something similar existed for other systems, for the sake of performance, for example. Bonus points if it would allow copying channels between one data and another (like, RED from one to ALPHA of other), though for a different reason. ^^'

So yes, if there is something like BitmapData in other system, then it's great. If it would be supported by Stencyl, it would be even better! Though I guess it won't happen in the nearest version... :P

I have a netbook running XP and even before I moved to it, I had problems changing the resolution to see everything displayed in the settings and editors. Is someone going to change that so all resolutions are supported?

I'm curious as to when Android & HTML5 Pro will be released roughly (date maybe?) and if there will be a bundle with all the packages included. I was going to buy Studio within the week but I'd happily hold off getting it if I could get my hands on everything at once. Any price set yet lads?  ;) :)

Disclaimer: I have no inside information, but Jon has said that a 'sweet deal' would be on offer to existing subscribers!

When Stencyl Pro moved to the subscription system, existing subscribers to iOS Pro were offered an amazing deal on the Flash Pro licence, so if that is anything to go by, it is not worth holding on before buying. My experience is that current subscribers will be looked after nicely.

This is true. Now it is probably even worse with the settings in new, non-resizable window.

I knew there were great deals offered to existing subscribers but does it work out much cheaper? Its a case where I have the money now, I'll probably be broke within a few weeks unless I kept money aside. If I got Studio now, I'd forget to save for Android and HTML5. If I hold off, the excitement would cripple me and I'd be damn sure not to spend it. :P I think I need money management classes!!

Thanks for the info Innes! :)
