Hey, I just picked up Stencyl so I'm very newb. I started with the most advanced platformer tool kit.

I deleted the ladder and water actors, but even if the image was removed the collision still seem to affect hero. I searched everywhere for triggers or layers but I can't figure out how these collisions actually work in stencyl.

Any help is appreciated. I am still very begginner :)

Welcome. How did you hear about us?

First off, can you save and close your game and reopen.

Then try to turn on Collision Debugger in Design Mode. This will allow you to review the collision boundaries of actors/tiles in your game during game testing.

There is a Design Mode Scene Behavior located on Forge (under Newest) called Game Debugger by Greg that you can download and attached to your scene.

This should let you pinpoint your collision issue.

I heard about it from a friend a while ago and started playing some of the impressive game made with it. I am more used to Game Maker so I didn't bother trying it in depth even though I found Stencyl to look really neat. Then, now using GameSalad for iphone port, i heard about it on the GS forum. The ability to port to flash, and possibly iOs in the future really grabbed my attention and went back giving it another shot.

The program is really well designed, but I got lost a little in those working mode and such. I'm starting to get the hand on it a bit, but what exactly is design mode? I've attached greg's game debugger (coudln't find anything called design mode scene behaviour), but I can't seem to find the collision debugger to activate it.

I love the forge feature though. :) Is there a way to search behaviours by it's creator?

As I said, I'm still a bit lost. I've still got a lot to learn about this program :)  Sorry for not even being able to follow that simple help...

I was pretty sure I checked to find no region in my scene, but guess I didn't which confuse me a bit; it was simply the use of regions I didn't understand. Simple as that :)

Thanks!!

I think it's just take a little patience and you'll figure out. Here's what you need to do:

1. Go to Forge -> Behavior -> Newest. Search for word Debugger using search box on top right.

2. Download Greg's Game Debugger.

3. Once download complete, go to the scene you want, you'll see 5 buttons on top scene/behavior/physics etc.

4. Go to Behavior

5. On bottom left corner, select import behavior from library

6. A Choose a behavior would pop up. Locate Game Debugger in Debug and choose it.

7. Now you'll see Game Debugger as part of the Scene behavior when you look to the left banner

8. Just for safety, save and close game and reopen.

9. Restart the game, open the same scene and do test scene. You'll see bounding box highlighting any collision. Debug from there.

Let me know if you still have problems.
