How new does it have to be? Could I use a game that's been in development for a while but isn't finished yet? Even if demos or such have already been published?

We're going by the honor system here, and I'm not going to strictly define what a "new" game is. After hosting a bunch of jams in the past, I find that most game jam entries, including the winners, tend to be completed in the span of a week or two.

If hassled, I'd say that a game whose content is beyond "half done" is stretching it. So it's OK if you have a demo with just the base mechanics finished, but not OK if you submit a 60 level game where you've already completed 30 levels.

Oh dear haha , I guess if I get enough of my current project done by that time I can count that as entry?

EDIT: Oh saw the above comment -- I'm sure I'll have enough by then to make something nice. ( maybe )

Interesting, guess I picked a good time to work on a new game. Extra motivation to get it finished this month as well.

Wow, that looks fantastic! I love the graphic style... it looks like a classic computer game! Hope you do well.

Oh, and I have a question. If we team up with somebody and win, we obviously just split the money in some way. Unfortunately though, would I be correct in saying three people cannot split a single subscription of Stencyl Studio?
Do NOT PM me your questions, because I likely will not respond. If I have replied to your question on the forum, keep using that topic. Thanks!

a lone wolf, then..  :)

I'm actually going to try working on a game as much as I can these two months. I'll probably need help from some friends to ever finish what I already have planned... hehe...

I'm Gonna make a game about making bad games for the Stencyl Jam... Will that work?
AKA you'll hate the game so much that finishing it is a good thing...
yah, i have no idea. TIME TO TEST FATE!

Well, at any rate, I am excited too! Now, what game shall I make...? Time to hit the "drawingboards" perhaps.

Yes, it's up to the team to figure out how to split the proceeds.

I don't enter these jams for the money... honestly, I would enter these for fun.  :)

I have a few concepts laying around, although I might end up in too much of a jam to be able to produce one for the jam.

I won't have enough time. But my "major" is a secret. HINT: It has nothing to do with grumpy cat. That game has been delayed.
