It is to my understanding that Action Script 3 can be coded within stencyl. Does anyone know any good tutorials for just AS3?

Are you interested in learning programming in general, or specifically ActionScript?  If it's just ActionScript - it looks like there are some good resources here:

The first as3 tutorial I used, and was also very informative, was this: http://gamedev.michaeljameswilliams.com/2008/09/17/avoider-game-tutorial-1/

I learn C++, so specifically AS3, Greg. I've heard that learning AS2 first is recommended, but AS2 is not as good and is older. I know C++ and AS3 are very un-alike.

I forgot to mention it, but I will be using Flash develop for it.

I never tried AS2 but from what I understand, AS2 is not as Object Oriented as AS3 is, plus AS3 performs better and faster.

AS3 is very much like Java, so if you are familiar at all with Java, you shouldn't have an issue learning AS3. And to be honest, I learned Java back in 05-06 in HS. Then in Feb of 2010, I used the tutorial I posted above, between that and a tutorial on Box2D, I had my first game programmed (almost entirely by myself), designed, and launched by then end of June.

Cool, but I know that with Flash Develop, I cannot draw things, but from what I understand, it is possible to import images? Flash Develop requires more coding. I am not familiar with Java, though I am planning on learning it so that I can make guis better, since C++ SUCKS for guis.

Yes, when you go to create a new Behavior - there is an option that lets you pick between "Design Mode" or "Code Mode"

Don't even bother with AS2. Don't use Flash Develop just yet if you don't know AS3.

Look at the actual code of behaviors and create your own small behaviors. Try and translate DM behaviors to AS3 code. Read tutorials and look for specific terms when you actually need to, when coding.

I can't think of any faster and better way to learn a programming language.
