Minefall is a vertical scrolling endless runner developed by clayfruit (me). The objective is to reach as deep in the procedurally generated mine as possible and beat your scores and that of your friends online. The mine is full of treasures and coins, and that money can be used to buy upgrades for the player and power-ups from the store.


For the Love of Jams, I spent a lot of time and sleepless weekends to give it some quality, and will add more. Art, code and sfx by me, music will be credited in later builds. Key features:
- Completely procedural level generation.
- Endless play(really)
- Upgrades and powerups
- Multiple worlds to explore
- Online leaderboards and facebook integration(wip)
- IAP to get more coins(wip)
- fun!

The upgrades take too long to buy and they don't seem to do much if anything.

Awesome! Although I keep inadvertently pressing up to try and jump over the platforms that fall down (which I suppose would land me with a head full of buzz saw so maybe it's for the best).
Amazing production values and quite addictive.

The game is pretty cool. But the movement keeps glitching!? Like i'll move left, nothing happens. Try stoping, but keeps going.

@rob: This is the first the has been open for playing. I'll tweak the balancing numbers based on feedback.

@zerosimms: Yes, the sfx are bfxr + audacity.

@warzone: thats quite odd.. are u playing via arrow keys or mouse click on screen area?

Next in minefall:

- Difficulty adjustments(both ups and downs) based on a moderated testing process (high priority)
- Tweak the appearances and types of baddies (low priority)
- Adding more personality (added details and more kinds of characters to play with) (low priority)
- Facebook integration to share, invite compare and do all kinds of social stuff with friends through the mobile app (am thinking along the lines of subway surfers) (very high priority)
- icon, store art etc; whatever the web and mobile versions need.. also make clayfruit.com presentable as a brand (will take out time for this between the other tasks)

Really great game.  Its everything you would expect to see in a mobile top seller category for 'infinite fallers' (except Ads + IAP)

Bug:  I found that if your character collides against the wooden platform (platform going left) and your character (going right) your character will get stuck there until you let go or the log changes direction.  Has happened at least 3 times so far.

i get what you are saying, it will be taken care of in post jam build.

I was using arrow keys.... I'm not sure why it happend... But it kept happening to me. It's the the moving platform bug... It's a separate bug.


It probably has to do with my computer being old and laggy though.
