Hello all,
I'm going to give the Dare a go. The entire process will be livestreamed (livestream.com/stencyl (see sig link)). I've already saved the first 43 minute segment from tonight in the recent videos. Tomorrow will be the main push in the creation as I work on Sunday. I hope to start around 10:30 AM EST.

My idea is pretty simple: Since so many times we've made games about aliens attacking from outer space, why not make a game about "aliens" attacking from within the earth. It's a mostly standard projectile "defend the earth" style game with the controls reversed to shoot below instead of above. Graphics and sound will likely be crap. We'll have to see if I have any time for polish at all. I'd rather put the effort into putting in more features.

Going live again. Gonna see how far I can get in this 90 minutes before my job starts. This'll be the final push for me. Anything else will be little details as I don't think I'll get any more serious time to work on it. :(

As of right now, it's a decent showcase of the Image API (the entire game is built around it as I wanted to learn how to use it better), but since the API is of course new to me, that's about all it is; I've been spending too much time learning rather than creating...

The coding is now available in the StencylForge (although you'll need access to 3.1 to see it).

It can be a great reference tool to anyone learning the Image API (as that is the foundation for the entire game).

Even the biggest version of the file (the StencylForge one) is just over 2 MB. The SWF is 600kB.
