I cant figure out how to create the bullet in front of the actor. This is what I have so far.I checked out the Shoot Em Up Kit but that did not help at all.
Thanks.

The front option you selected means on what layer the bullet actor is created, not the position. If it is a aidescrolling game, you use a boolean to check on what side of your actor the bullet should spawn, then simply use an offset which is either positive or negative.

When shoot was pressed,
If moving left << same as if moving left = TRUE
~create bullet at x-centre of self - offset (and y as you desire)
Otherwise
~create bullet at x-centre of self + offset (and y as you desire)

Didn't work. Also it isn't a side scroller it is  a Shoot Em Up.

A shoot em op an either be topdown, side s rolomg, or fps
and that is the most basic setup you can have, so you must have forgotten something. Show us a screenshot.
