Loony Box iOS

I downloaded the free version on my iPad, but it crashes right after I launch it. My first generation iPod Touch can't run iOS 4, so I can't test on that.
Im gonna check on my iphone 4 myself and see if it works.

There's an update on the way including 10 new maps, 2 new boxes and jon's ipad fix.
I uploaded it to the App Store 10 minutes ago.

A 16% paid rate (18/113) isn't bad. If you promoted it, you'd probably get a lot more.

I haven't promo'ed it yet since I want to get a game or two more in the store before I start doing that.

I guess the real long term solution is that we'll need to educate developers on the art of promoting their games and providing insights into what makes for a game that performs well on the market.

For me, the first step before publishing is to make a simple website (Not only for this game, but for all of them, it's cool, you have that!) with a devblog.
On this website, use the fact it's possible for you to make a Flash demo of your game with many links to the Appstore.

On the devblog, show some stuff.
Make a facebook page, a twitter.

When all of that is good, send the game to the appstore, and search for some review.
When the game is here, use your contacts to promote your game with Facebook and Twitter.

It's not magic, but I think it's a good support for a game.

It's tough out there in the app store market, but if you haven't already I would recommend jumping on Touch Aracde and post on their forums. The have sections where you can announce your game, etc etc.

Thanks for the marketing hints so far.
I found a nice indie developer twitter group called IDRTG. In case you plan to promote with twitter, you should check it out!

Also, there's an app status update for Loony Box Free (iPad Fix). It went into "In Review" after only 2 days (!)

EDIT: Paradoxically the "Loony Box Free" update went through before the paid version, although it was submitted after the paid one. It should work fine now with Jon's iPad fix: AppStore link

It took 4 days for the update to reach the Appstore:

- Paid version
- Free version

The main reason for this update was Jon's iPad fix. But the paid version got new maps and boxes as well :)
I also got lots of promo codes again (due to the update), so if you want one just drop me a line.

Just uploaded a new Free version, including iAds (to try them out in a product) to the AppStore.
I recognized that the ad-wrapper sticks to the device's orientation, meaning that the ad turns around in case the device is turned. Don't know if this was intended :)
