Is anyone here participating in the Global Game Jam this year? If you're not familiar with it, it's essentially like Ludum Dare except you must visit a registered physical location and work in teams.

This is gonna be my first time taking part in one. I'm slightly nervous as I don't know what to expect or what my role will be since I don't specialize in anything. I'll also probably wind up having to use Unity since it's so popular, and I'm not well versed in it. I also don't have much experience working in teams. :o

This ought to be a worthwhile experience nonetheless, even if it turns out to be a total train wreck.

How did it go? We had about 30 people at our site in Eugene, OR, and made 10 games. http://globalgamejam.org/2015/jam-sites/eugene-oregon-fertilabd-thinkubator/games

"Save the Princess" is my entry, made in stencyl: http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/29566

Our team was working on a cool game about miscommunication but we ran out of time and threw some of our assets into a hastily made shooty game.  lol

I recommend that everyone tries out the Global Game Jam next year. It was a neat experience. My team was really cool and there was a lot of talent between us. Definitely work in a team; you're likely to make new connections, learn new things from the rest of your team and be challenged to try out new things that you wouldn't have otherwise. For example, I worked on some largish pixel art of humans, which I probably wouldn't have done otherwise.

there's 15 teams at malaysia jam site! pizza piles is crazy! everyone sleeping everywhere!

barely finish the game since it over-ambitious (as always) done most of the programming myself and no souls can drag the actor accurately with the bugged function ;D
