BlackJackSim slash DealerSim

So I want to work on two ideas. One is a tycoon / basic tweaking sim where you as in charge of a black jack table(s) and can tweak things like number of players at  table, max bets, payouts, and even dealer rules (what happens if the dealer hits on all 17s?) and then you run a "day" of work and it spits out hte results, the goal to eventually expand  to  get better clientelle and whatnot.

The other idea is a twitch game of being a blackjack dealer where you have to deal out the cards and properly execute the dealing and chip handling commands in the vein of Cook Serve Delicious

So for now, dealing (harhar) with how to best simulate a card deck and spawning random cards. Trying first to have a generic card actor that has 53 frames, 0 being the back and 1-52 being the faces. Not sure right now how to freeze the animation on one frame, may have to split it into 53 animations.

Sounds like fun. I love card games and think a dealer/tycoon card game would be a great idea. Let me know if you'd like some assistance. I have some experience with card game mechanics: http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/29685 and also you can check my signature.

Day 4, gave up on the animation method for using actors for cards, might just make it draw each one like in the Tuo example card game. For now focusing on logic for things like adding card values (face cards, and dealing with aces) and just displaying raw card data.

Next step is basic dealer ai, then maybe start working on the monte carlo style simulation after building some player AI.

Screenshot shows player with properly handled Ace, while dealer has gone bust with a card that's off screen
