Students unable to compile games

I am starting to use Stencyl with my students and they are not able to test or publish their games using the .swf format. However, they can publish .swf files in Adobe Flash. Is it probably some sort of crazy permission issue with their account, just looking for some advice about the difference between the two compiling processes. Thanks in advance.

Does it happen with both testing and publishing or just publishing? If it is also while testing, that just means something in their code is off. Check to make sure all of the fields are filled in each behavior/blocks.

It is happening at both times. Will look into your suggestion.

Yes, if it happens both times I am 99% sure that it is some issue with an empty field or a null object reference. When you run, you should see an error message pop up. Most errors indicate where the error has occurred. You should see an "Actor Behavior" or a specific behavior name listed in the test.

Hi there,
I've received a similar error message that reads, "Stencyl needs to install the Neko VM to this computer in order to compile gams." I cannot install anything to this computer as I am not the IT administrator.  If the coding is correct do I still need to install Neko VM?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, Neko needs to be installed, so ask the computer admin to do that for you.

I think I am having the same problem.
I will try to install the new version of Stencyl and fiddle around with it, but I am not sure how to "launch" flash to play the game. (It often 'autostarts' with a multimedia player with no gaming controls.
Maybe I just don't know how to 'find' Flash?
