Hi! We're soon launching our analytics extension to the Stencyl community. At the moment we give insight into your players retention rate. Implementation is done in just a few minutes, check our Stencyl Documentation http://simplanalytics.com/getting-started-stencyl. We have focused on minimizing our SDKs to remove the technical friction from your side, so that you can instead focus on making great games.

Our team is small but our ambitions are big. We want to simplify analytics. Our goal is to provide you with useful feedback from analytics to make great games even better. In order to do that we need YOU. We're not a big corporation. We're a small group of devoted indie game developers, and to us every feedback/thought from you matters.

this sounds really interesting!, to know the ARPU or LTV as well as many other paramenters can build the path to a sucessful game (and maybe let us know if it's worth investing in user acquistion) the only thing I'm not sure of, is that this only shows retention... and so far retention can already be extracted from itunesconnect.. is this different to that? I like the simple approach but as a suggestion I think it could benefit from a few other parameters... play sessions, pointcuts etc.. to have a more complete understanding of how players interact with the game.. looking forward to see how this cool extension works :)

Thanks for some great feedback! The difference with our retention data from iTunesConnect's is that we're able to extract data from every user, while Apple hide data from users that have not chosen to share their data with developers. This gives you misleading retention data.

By extracting retention data from Simpl Analytics you are able to calculate:
- Retention
- Total users
- New users
- DAU
- MAU

Based on your ideas we'll add the most important metrics as an overview to your game. Until then, quick tip now is to export data. ARPU, Life time value, play sessions, pointcuts. What more do you guys want to track?  What is your pain with current analytic alternatives?

Yeah daily active users is the main one I'm interested in. Maybe average session time could also be interesting.

thanks sebastianlinden for explaining, indeed I now remember itunes analytics was limited to a certain iOS and people accepting to share info, also if this works on Android too it makes things a lot simplier. I think I was picturing a google analytics kind of solution, but to be honest all the info that you provide seems pretty sufficient (maybe session time would be good), the info that the extension provides matched with revenue info + a few app specific implementations we would have a good basis to understand the behaviour inside the app.  Excellent, looking forward to try the extension! :)

Will you be able to get figures for average length of time running app per day? Will it be possible to log events, say stage in game reached?

Average session length is a good idea! I'll share it with my team, and just added it to https://simplanalytics.com/ideas. Feel free to upvote it and get some friends to upvote it as well :) We'll look into event-logging, however our first step will be to create a foundational infrastructure for key metrics to track.
