Hi guys.

I would like to know the basis for the scoring of Stencyl Jam. Is it really OK to publicize this so participants know what they need to focus on or the factor that has the most weight?

For Example:

Sex Appeal: 50%
Overall Aestethics: 15%
Cupsize: 30%
Ease of Play:  5%

etc etc.. We would be glad to know and We hope that each game could have a scoring sytem like this (if it is possible)  :P

The Judging is pretty relaxed, the judging will be based on fun, how interesting is the concept, visuals and how well it fits in with the theme.

Hi Colburt187

Thanks a lot about that info.  So, we will start doing a simple holloween game later for the younger audiences.

Who are the judge's?

Usually, it's a combination of the organizers and a few respected game developers who come together. We usually don't disclose this for privacy reasons and because this can change.

As Colin says, judging is informal - we just shortlist down to a few frontrunners and pick based on how fun / original the game is, how well it's put together and how well it incorporates the theme. No points or silly things like that. It's relaxed but thoughtful.

As has been said, the point of the jam is to get the community together to make some cool games. Just have fun and find the fun, right?

Hi Chief.

This is very well said. Thanks for the additional info. We will also insert funny things (wholesome) so it wouldn't end up being a dead serious game.

Nikki
