Hi everybody

I remember form years ago a behavior I used to blow apart an actor. I think it converted the actor to an image and then broke the image in to pieces and propelled them across the screen.  I have been searching the forums and StencylForge but I can seem to find any reference to it.  Can any one remember it?  I've been trying to do something similar with my latest game but I'm having a few issues and I was hoping to have a look at the old behavior and see where I'am going wrong.

Thanks

Justin

IIRC it was called explode into pieces by coleislazy. It may not be available among the 3.x assets on Forge, but if you open Forge with a legacy version of Stencyl you may still be able to find it. Of course, you'd have to update any deprecated blocks or actionscript code in the behavior.

Another way is setting the image of the actor to an image, like you said. And then set part of the image (e.g. x:0 y:0 w:10 h:10 and x:10 y:0 w:10 h:10, etc.) to make a whole bunch of small broken fragments of the original. At that point, you could  have those small fragment images move whenever you want them to.

Thanks everybody

Justin

Thank you I have been racking my brains for days trying to think of the name and author. If I remember correctly coleislazy made some great stuff back in the day, shame he doesn't seem to post here anymore.

You've describe pretty much what I'm trying to do, I've managed to get to a point where I have the actor turn in to an image but was struggling with the rest of it. Hopefully this behavior will help with the rest.
