Hey all!
Those who have seen my vlog from March 18th 2017, might know about my new personal challenge where I post a new iLog entry for my public project "Breinstein", a not so avarage platformer game I am making with Stencyl. It is going to be a long project, but it has a background story which you can read on my website.

This topic will be here to notify the people that aren't following my Facebook page whenever there is a new entry. Feel free to leave your opinions, and ask me anything you want as long as it is relevant to this topic! (can't promise you an answer tho ;))

Entry #4 has been added. We now have a more user friendly buildbar that shows every time we have build or modification options.

That looks very interesting! I can't recall having seen a jump'n'run where you build your level. There's the occasional drop a piece of wood etc, but no real building. Will be interesting to see where you go with this. It could open up an infinite world of puzzles if your building material is limited and you have to use it wisely: Are you going to try to make a really difficult jump and save a piece of stone that might come in handy later? Or even use material to gather new ones through the help of NPC's. Would also make for funny rage attacks when you have used all materials, get to the end of the level and realize that you can't make this last jump, but of course you will try anyhow... lol.

Are you using the Tile API for that? Would be great to see a tutorial, I want to start making strategy games where the player can build stuff that NPC will interact with. But that's something for the future, I'm currently building a game where NPC's interact with stuff that was build by the player, but simply by referring to attributes.

Well for now it's not a gsme where you build your level during gameplay. Its literally a level editor that allow players to build and upload their own levels for other people to play. That being said, there IS a mechanic that sort of allows you to do it, but that will be a suprise =)

Im not using the tile api at this point, but will be used later.

Isn't this more of a game journal?

Depends o  how you look at it haha. Its more of a public project to show outsiders the capabilities of Stencyl, instead of going "its not a real engine and it is limited"

(!)

So this plan backfired allot in just the first week and a half haha. Instead I have another plan that you can find info about in my latest vlog: https://youtu.be/2U2TVVkJTUA?list=PLWnECxqeXE9Df9gdtxcxs53S-mMv_EeWj

Sounds nice. Honestly, I'm not sure about editing the streams, unless you have tons of time to spare. One of the great things about just livestreaming and then uploading is that you don't have to spend too much time with it.

Are you going to announce your streams here as well? I'm not checking into facebook very often and don't use twitter, but I'd love to watch your stream!

if you make games you should really use Twitter, I cannot stress enough how much twitter is THE social / networking tool for game developers.
