oh man thanks for the nice words everyone!! I totally thought i had email notifications turned on. guess not!

@mdotedot ooh yeah good idea!! I have now submitted it :)

@squeeb the trees are actually composed of 2 sprites: one non-scalable leaves sprite, and one scalable trunk sprite.

This is pretty clever! I've seen quite a few of the mini 3D globes in the LD feed, but it's neat to see one done in Stencyl. Plus I think your result looks nicer than the variations done with the 3D engines.

@squeeb yep! I thought on it a lot and there was no good (fast) way to implement skewing, so any sprite that scales has to rotate towards the player (center), so that it scales parallel/perpendicular to the "camera". I originally planned for all sprites to scale, and therefore rotate, but i realized i could make spherical-looking objects and those don't have to rotate.

@merrak thank you! Yeah there were a ton more games similar to this visual than i expected, I hope mine stands out at least somewhat. I appreciate the compliments :)

Nicely done.. I wonder if you did the exact opposite with the trees and what not.. if it'd look like you're running downhill?

I agree with both the points. What an effect!!! Your works actually forced me to try something new with Stencyl. (Not for Jam though).
