I got the Stencyl on Ubuntu and I've been using it by terminal. Like this:

Code: [Select]
cd ~/stencyl
Code: [Select]
./Stencyl
I attached the log for help.

Any help is accepted, if you can, thanks a billion!  ;D

Is this still running off the Chromebook?

I've never seen this before: "Error: The input swf newgrounds.swf is corrupted"

Chromebook?? I'm using Ubuntu.

And I don't know why it's saying that, but I don't like it.

And also hello merrak.

Did you install all the dependencies listed in the Stencylpedia entry?

Has this been solved? Because I have the same problem.
Ubuntu 17.04
i686 (32 bit)

I encountered the same problem with Ubuntu 17.04. To be able to test my games, next to the Test Game button, you can switch the "Flash" option to "Linux". I've been able to test my games since, but I don't know if this preserves the issue long term (when you actually want a flash game).

Hope that helps,

I got the similar, "Error: The input swf newgrounds.swf is corrupted" in Mac 10.13.4 (17E199).
If any one know the solution, please reply.

Thanks,
Praveen

It's a problem with Flash, High Sierra, and Stencyl 3.4. It's also an issue on some flavors of Linux. I'm not aware of any workaround, though than downgrading Mac OS or upgrading to Stencyl 3.5 (which is in beta right now, so only available to subscribers).

You can still test your game with the other options: HTML5, desktop, mobile, etc., so the simplest thing to do while you're in development would be just that.
