Keep actor stationary until inputs are pressed

Making a game where the player character is a ball; I'm fine with it bouncing after a long jump, but I want the actor to come to a complete stop at some point. Should I be looking into it's physical properties or play around with it's behaviors?

You can increase friction in the Physics tab for your actor. Any value greater then 0 should stop it at some point, you'll have to fiddle with the value to get exactly what you want.
