Zame Particle Extension
HTML5 Demo
The particle system uses files created by a Particle Editor.
One editor that I've succesfully used:
One By One Editor
Both Image and Particle File (json/plist/pex) should be in the extras folder.
Important:
The color layer is removed in order to display the particles. You can still use backgrounds as far as I can tell.
Put files in the ' extras ' folder
You can change the particle image with a block.
See for placment:
Image & Extras folder help
Could have issues with Device Scaling (You might need position recalculations)

Oh wow!
This is awesome! Performance is better vs a bunch of actors? Does it work on mobile?

Thanks for the replies.
Performance vs actors? Normal actors shouldn't be used for particles. Minimal actors or images might do the same job. I don't know if minimal actors are hardware accelerated but as far as I could tell the OpenGL stuff that is used in the library are hardware accelerated.
The calculations needed to do the same with minimal actors or images are not in my reach. I'm no mathmagician. I simply do trial and error and let the hardcore math do by cleverer persons.
Yes it run on all targets

Ah, cool. I'd seen your extension while I was on holiday on my phone - on the beach!!! Was excited to give it a try when I got back home.
