Don't want to edit image at 4x resolution - how?

Hi,
we (my 9yo son and me) started using Stencyl.
When editing an image from the example "Dungeons" game, we see that all tiles have 32x32 pixels. But when opened in the editor, they are 128x128. When we edit the image and save it, it is indeed 128x128 (the higher resolution details were preserved).
Is it possible to simply edit the images without rescaling, at 32x32?
Thanks.

PS: Yes, I tried searching the forum, but the most promising results were from 2014, mentioning an old stencyl version and not-existing-anymore video :(

By default all project scales are enabled, and the editor will use the highest scale enabled.  If you only want to work with one scale you can disable the higher ones in Settings > Advanced.

Thanks.
Just to clarify: we'd like to create a classic pixel-art game. So we'd like everything to be scaled up when displayed.
But to edit it pixel per pixel. That is, in image editor it should be 32x32 for example, and in game (on desktop) scaled up 4x.

Disabling the higher scales is what you're looking for then.  The game will still scale to fit the window size or the screen if using full screen mode.
