Trouble testing on android [SOLVED]

Hey everyone.

I'm kind of stuck with what to do next, basically I cant get past compiling to test my game on my Google Pixel 3.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything, I even factory reset my PC to make sure there wasn't any lingering files and reinstalled everything. I followed http://www.stencyl.com/help/view/setup-android  when setting up, I've also tried testing on a  new game with a blank scene but I get the same result,

I'm not that experienced with this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

This looks a bit different from the usual. Have you done the steps described here?

Hey thanks for the reply, I tried what they are suggesting but it seems to have just made it fail faster lol not sure if that is progress or not, I will attach the newest logs

I don't know if it's this but I noticed your game name "23 may2" , usually having spaces is a big cause of having bugs. I would rename it

Yeah I noticed that and saved new calling it FE tried with that and had the same result, I think when I get back I'm going to try reinstalling it all again and see if I can test it on my gf phone, thanks

It looks like the same error still. You can try going to Tools > Android and reinstall the android tools and the java tool as well for good measure.
And sanity checking: make sure you have your phone or android device connected to your PC via cable.

I reinstalled everything and for some reason on the drop down menu my android device was now showing which resulted in a very long compile time, it got alot further than before but ultimately spat out an error, going to keep trying anyways as I am at the point in my game where I just need to test it on my android before looking at going studio and publishing lol.

Create a new set of logs and post them again, if you got new error messages.

Logs are attached, I think its still the same errors, I've got the android device monitor up and have noticed that i get connection attempts 1-8 and then  Adb connection Error:An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host, I've reset abd but still the same result.

While the error on those logs are the same, it seems you went ahead and got a subscription already. You now have access to the private builds of STencyl (go to the forums and check the subscribers area). So get the most recent private build and try with that, see if the error perists. If it does, generate a new set of logs and post again.

It could be something wrong with the Android Tools, becasue the error you're getting is not familiar, but worth trying with the most recent builds first.

Hey sorry for the late reply.

Yeah I was planning on upgrading this week anyways and was hoping the latest build would fix my problems, but unfortunately it has not, I am still getting the same errors.  Running Android. (Return code: 1), I was however able to publish to windows so I do think it must be to do with android, do you think perhaps it could be my Pixel 3 causing the issue?

I have also uninstalled everything Stencyl related and reinstalled,

edit: just tried with my older google pixel phone and had the same results

It has has nothing to do with your phone. Basically it seems that the game compiles well (from haxe to compiled c) , but it's maybe  wrapping with gradle that poses problem.

Found this: https://github.com/gradle/gradle/issues/12599
From what I understand of it, it's a conflict between Stencyl's version of gradle and JDK14. I don't know when the dev team will be able to look at this issue/updating gradle, but what you can try perhaps is using a previous version of the JDK.

finally lol it works, I downloaded jdk8, I thought jdk14 worked with stencyl which is why I never tried to downgrade.

Thank you for all your help, really appreciate it, I wish I had just tried it from the start!

Anyone who comes after this replace jdk14 with jdk8 and see if that works.
