Yoshi Joint Illustration

I've uploaded my latest copy of joint demo called "Yoshi Joint Illustration" to web area. It is intended to give users some quick examples of what a joint is and what type there are.

http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/2171

Somehow, for whatever reason, I cannot get the last kind of joint (sliding joint) to work at all. For any of you who are familiar with this joint, please try it out and confirm. It could be my actor settings or just the physics of my joint settings.

To edit a joint setting, you need to create a joint and select the 4th button in working mode in scene designer and left click on your joint.

That is really awesome Rob! I've been having trouble understanding the joints in SW. lol I've started to realize that they need code blocks to use them.

If you want to keep things pretty basic, you don't need code blocks.  You can add them via the Scene Designer and then double click to edit their properties.

Joint are located on left banner below insert column
It's called a toolbar.

This is a nice take, however I dislike the random and mixed graphics. I understand it's a demo but it's confusing.

I've had stick joints and hinge joints work. I think the motors is where I was getting confused. But I also think that is when the code blocks come into play, no?

Edit: and I agree about the mixed graphics.

It seems that I need to set my working mode to Joint before I can edit the properties. For some reason, double clicking did not work for me.

Thanks. I'll rename to toolbar later today. As for the graphics, I really do not have any preferences or skills to create them. As you can see, they are mainly pulled from forge, old stencyl pieces or from mcdonalds. If you have any good ones that you think I can swap in, I will be very happy to change them. Please let me know.

@Epic, can you also try sliding joint? It used to work for me way back. Also, if you think graphics can be better. I can post it up to Forge and we can swap in a few actor appearances which should be easy.

I'll definitely put up this game on Forge so that you can look at my joint settings and experiment with them. Sometimes this afternoon.

The big one missing now is a sliding joint though.

It's pretty cool, I haven't ever tried to set up a vehicle with the joints though. I should try that some time.

Yes. I would love to see what you can come up with. My model is pretty simplistic. I know people can come up with much more fancier scheme.

The debug button works only once, which defeats its purpose.
