I use Audacity for sound edit, and I'm making my music with FL Studio or Ableton.
Still on my first project.

Reaper is the way to go for MIDI and sequencing on a budget. I've used Logic and Pro Tools on a high end Mac and I would still choose Reaper - it's intuitive and has a ton of advanced features that you gradually figure out by yourself.

Indeed! Reaper is absolutely the way to go. I love that baby.
I use it for all my work be it composition or production (i.e. my own original music or producing music for others, like a rock band's EP).
