Unable to drag images into new animation for an actor

Not sure if this is a bug or not or if the functionality changed in 2.0

But I cannot see a way to drag and drop a sequences into an animation for an actor. You used to be able to select the images and drag them into where the frames would go and it would auto populate. This seems to no longer work.

I've noticed this as well - or something similar. I can drag animated gifs into the workspace, but only the first frame will be there - the rest of the frames will not auto-populate.

Would be nice if this could be fixed with a quick patch.

This is still an issue after launch of 2.0, still can't drag sequenced images into a new animation. Which as you can imagine makes it a pain in the but to add frames one by one.

I'm having Mike investigate this. To my knowledge, this area wasn't touched, so I'm surprised that it broke.

Currently testing the image importing, and it all seems good to me. Could I have some more info (logs/sample images)?

As for the gifs case, I'm not sure that we ever supported multi-frame import through animated gifs. If we do, it's not working for me (while the normal multi-image import does work). I'll take a look.

I don't use gifs, I always use PNG sequences. Pre 2.0 I was able to drag a sequence of images from a folder right into the empty animation and it would populate the animation. Now I have to add images one by one. I'm on Win 7 64-bit

I've included a zip of a video of what I'm doing, an image sequence and the log files.

Can you attach some sample animation so that I can give it a try? So, you say 1.4x is working whereas 2.0x is not.

There's an image sequence in that zip.

I am able to drag all 8 animation in one shot. However, I've win-xp and using stencyl 2.x nightly.

a. I went to Example Animation folder and selected all 8 animations.

b. Then I added New actor type xyz in stencyl.  In the appearance page, I see

"This Actor Type contains no animations. Click here .."

At this point, I just dragged the entire 8 selected animations from windows to "This Actor Type contains ..." box above.

c. I see all 8 animations right away.

If it does not work for you, it's probably a win-7 thing.

Yea it doesn't work, strange that it would have worked in the pre-2.0, but not now.

I would try the nightly but I'm in the middle of a project and I don't want to introduce anything like that into the works. I'm sure it is a Win 7 specific problem as a recall there being some other issue that was Win 7 spec.

Here's to hoping this game sells well enough for me to buy a Mac finally haha

Been testing on Win 7 and with the same Java version, and I can't consistently reproduce the problem. I tried it in a fresh copy of 2.0 (launched it straight from the installer), and for some reason I couldn't do any drag and drop at all. But after closing and reopening Stencyl, the problem was gone again.

I still have no idea what the issue is (our code really hasn't changed that much from when DnD was first implemented).

It's not a major concern on my part, it's mostly a convenience thing. At most my animations are 8-10 frames.

I'm perfectly ok with blaming Windows 7  ;)

I got it to work all 4 times on my win-xp.

Back to all these drag and drop, do you know you can drag the entire actor/scene behaviors from windows into stencyl to any game. Again, this worked for me on win-xp  but someone claimed that it does not work on win 7 which is too bad.

Not sure how you do that but I am also unable to drag in an exported behavior into Stencyl. This was the other Win 7 specific issue I was referring to before.

Could you supply the exact files and images you are importing? Let's get on the same page.
