Jittery Games [Halfway Solved]

Sometimes others use my computer. One day, someone decided to try to download Stencyl onto their account. Since that day, my games have been plagued by a weird lag issue. The games themselves run perfectly at 60 FPS (generally under 5 ms to update), but the screen itself jitters. I have tried deleting all of the Stencyl programs on my computer and re-installing the 2.0, but the jitter is still there. I've even tried using a system restore... until this issue is solved, I cannot even try producing high-quality games. I would hate to see this be the end of my games.  :'(

You can see the jitters in my latest game: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Abigayl/mr-goldfish

Actually, I don't. Maybe it's your Flash player that's messed up somehow?

At any rate, if you're running Windows, my advice to you: System Restore. If it hasn't been too long since this nonsense started, you might be able to use it to restore whatever system settings got messed up.

Does it still have the "jitter" when tested in a browser?

It might be the Flash Player... I've tried uninstalling it 3 times now to no avail...

I would hate to see this thread cluttered with posts of "Well, it worked for me," but seeing how few posts there are, I suppose it's ok for me to do it.

Mr. Goldfish worked fine for me -- no jitters.  Other than that, I can't offer much more than I agree with things already said: my guess is that it's the Flash player.

Especially with Flash, I'd normally immediately blame Windows, running something stupid in the background, choking the player, but since you've done restores... I'm at a loss.

I hope you get this resolved, because I, too, would be sad if this was the end of your games.  :(

Even if it gets cluttered with those posts, it's still great to know it's just me... so I can keep building my games, knowing that only I cannot fully appreciate them... still can't figure out what the heck is going on with my Flash nor how to uninstall it (trying to official method listed online isn't working).

We've already established that the problem is on Abigayl's end here. Does anyone possibly have a solution that she hasn't tried already? >_>

We bundle a Flash player with Stencyl. Do you see the "jitters" if you export the game and run it in the Flash player we bundle? What about the "default" Flash player on your computer (as opposed to the one inside your web browser)?

It jitters online, in both Chrome and IE, as well as in the default flash player in Stencyl. At this point, I managed to uninstall Flash somehow... but now it won't reinstall...

Okay. Have you tried CCleaner? Programs tend to leave files even when uninstalled. You need to find some way to make a clean sweep of Flash and then try a reinstall.
