Hi Guys

I'm Ian and I'm a graphic designer by day and an indie gamer by nice. I only have 4 games out at the moment (gamesalad & corona) and I'm very interested to see what stencyl can do.

To cut a long story short, I make graphics and although I'm not taking commissions at the moment (baby) I created an online store with various graphics for your games. All files could with an editable file and exported pngs.

The site is http://www.graphic-buffet.com

Welcome, debugdesign. Checked your page and just had to shop. Well drawn and, well, cheap is such a negative term, let´s call them inexpensive.  :)
Now I have to figure out where to use them.

Thanks Gplar (is that Klingon?) - in the middle of my first platformer now so learning the basics but Defo need to figure out spritesheets as it would be easier for people to add to their games... The only downside is that people might want to customise them first.

First of all I'd like to say you got some nice stuff on that site!

But $20? I know another more experienced group who will create a character from scratch for you for $25. Maybe lower some of the prices and start taking commissions?   ;)

On a related topic, I want the $30 mystery box. :o

Thanks for the feedback, all very useful.  I think I will put a sale on.

The character price of $20 is because you get it animated in 6 ways: walking, jumping, punching, kicking, being hit and dying.

If your group can beat that price for all that work please could I have their email as I could send them a lot of work.

The characters are currently half price so they are only $10

I do take commissions usually and I have created graphics for well over 50 games but I have a new baby (almost 1) which has meant that meeting deadlines became a problem so now when I find myself with a hour or two here and there I do some shop graphics.  This way I don't let anyone down.

I will be taking commissions again soon.

I don't know if I am looking in the wrong place, but a problem that I am having is that I cannot see the full range of animations that you are offering.

For example, if I look on your web site and look at the 'characters' section and choose the 'Penguin', the most I can see is an image of two penguins looking at each other (snapshot shown below). Is there any way that I can see the 6 animations that you have described in your post (quoted above)?

I understand that you would need to protect the images with, say, lines through them or other 'damage', but without sample images, I would not be confident to make a purchase.

Good point. The latest 10 character packs have the 6 animations... The $10 penguin you mention has a walk animation and is saved in non and outlined versions... I think your right in that I need to add more details to the description.

You should definitely think about arranging your products into tilesheets. Pretty much all map editors import graphics that way, and many libraries for programming languages do, too. If you decide to do that, tell us when it's done, because I see a few sets I would like to buy.

Thanks for responding; I can see me being a paying customer if you can provide more information with samples of animations.

I will get on to those points (better descriptions and tile sheets) and let you know once sorted...

Does anyone know any sprite sheet compilers? Or do I have to put them together in photoshop?

Here's one from Reiner, who is something of a god in the hobby game programming world: http://www.reinerstilesets.de/programme/reiners-tilesetmaker/

It's not the greatest in the world, but it is the only one that I always know where to find. There are others that you have to track down through old Megaupload accounts and stuff that are just too much hassle to acquire.
