Stencylpedia requires regular maintenance, but due to its sheer size and the pace of updates, it's often difficult for us to keep up. On the other hand, users are eager to suggest changes or even provide fixes to broken instructions and demos.

A Wiki isn't ideal because it's prone to hacking and difficult to integrate nicely into our site. Instead, we're using Github to host our articles (using Markdown as the markup language vs. HTML) and associated assets. This also opens up the door to translations and adaptations of Stencylpedia in alternative formats (PDF, integration back into the app) without requiring different versions of the the content itself.

For those looking to make tiny edits to articles, it's easy enough to click "Edit Article" at the bottom, make the edits and submit the proposal to us for approval. No Git client or technical expertise required.

I'm in the midst of porting (and updating) our articles over, but the entire process will take at least a month. The ones that are ported will have an Edit Article button at the bottom of the article.
