So you don't have to reinstall them ( very large files) just for Stencyl :)

I am not sure, but may be  Stencyl respects your choice if they are already installed ..
and well installed, I mean with the environment variables well set .
In my case, Stencyl could not see my half-baked installation of Java stuff ..

In my n-th installation of Stencyl (don't laugh ! not so easy under linux)  and with the 3.4 beta, Stencyl didn't force me to download all these redundant Mo .
Or I or Stencyl is getting better..
but I still think that Stencyl should make a little bit more cleare the problems of HOME, PATH even if it is not to Stencyl to touch your .bashrc !
so far to be able to use files I have downloaded for the use of Stencyl
but outside of Stencyl ..
I change the environment variables (mine, not the global ones ..)
and check files or repertories from the (n-1)th installation .. (generally hidden ones)
.hxcpp_config.xml, .haxelib, .StencylWorks,...
Ok I have special needs ..
In order to make Stencyl running alone (or with globally installed java stuff and some knowledge of Java), you don't need all that.
But I think if Stencyl wants to pretend to be a educational tools and not only a platform for games developers, Stencyl has to
help a little bit the would-be teachers.
For me, never mind, I'm learning
but I think you are right to make this suggestion, it can only make  think simpler for everybody:  users and Stencyl staff
