This is often annoying when we need to copy a group of blocks.
Due to this bug, we cannot easily copy the desired group of blocks.

TBH I'm not really a fan of actions working on the selected block as well as all block connected underneath it. It only makes sense to me for the very first block in a freestanding group. I think it might be better to work out a system for more precise control of which blocks you want to act on (like selecting blocks with a mouse cursor).

This would be perfect! Often we need to perform some action on a specific group of blocks, but having to extract a group of blocks from any large event to be able to copy/cut/duplicate/remove them is currently a cumbersome task. For this reason, your idea is very good and it would be great to see it implemented in Stencyl.
