Hi everyone.
I have just installed new Stencil on a newly set Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit Linux system.
I copied to my new 'stencylworks' catalog all content of the old folders 'games' and 'games-generated', cause I wanted to continue to work on my projects.
I have installed the android-sdk and ndk and other tools using script provided in the 'android-sdk' folder.
I am able to compile and run my game as a flash in the player and in the browser.
When I try to compile the android version, console shows the problem:

Suggestion Archives / Feature request - expansion files - Android.

I just found out, that Stencyl have no a good way to deal with 50MB max file size restriction at Google Play.

It can be a bad news for some developers.
It would be great to have support for expansion files in Stencyl. Encrypted one would be even greater.
Additionally, it would help to better protect game content (graphics and sounds) from easy extraction.

Google Play currently require that your APK file be no more than 50MB. I know, that 50MB looks like a lot of space, but considering media files rich application, 50 MB might be not enough.
Google encourages developers to stay with 50MB if possible, otherwise to use expansion files to the APK.

Today I tried to run my test game on the low end android device: 800MHz single core ARM CPU, 512 Mb RAM, Android version 2.3.6 phone.
In Game Settings/Mobile both Android Minimal and Target Version were set to API 9 - 2.3 Gingerbread. I also tried API 10 - 2.3 Gingerbread. The same result.
Everything went unexpectedly smooth accept sound playback. The test game plays only 1 audio file at a time. The file is 44100 Hz, 160 kbit, 2 Mb OGG imported as 'music type = MUSIC'.
The playback was muffled, not playing steady, stuttering, etc.. Generally speaking lots of audible problems.
When I changed the music type to SOUND EFFECT, loading the test game took significantly longer
([LOG] I/trace (20970): Sound.hx:54: Loading sound: 10 took some time), but the music playback was 100% correct.
I use Stencyl 3.1 - free version, yet.
I did not see this problem on faster android devices I used for tests.

QUESTION:
Is there a way to correct the streaming problem in Stencyl? Something like a small buffer for sound (when music is streamed on slower devices) should help.
Or should I get ready to fill a bug report?

Help me please with my lack of programming knowledge.
The Scene have two actors.
I wanted to create scene's Event (input on Actor) that does:

'when the mouse is pressed on actor 1'
        make 'action 1'
       
        after 4 seconds 'make action 2'

            if 'mouse was pressed on actor 2'
                     set attribute to true

            otherwise
                     set attribute to false


Unfortunately it does not work.
The program runs like there is no if / otherwise condition. After setting attribute to true, sets it to false just after that.
I need the program to recognize if the actor 2 was pressed during 'make action 2' stage and if it was pressed, act on it by not doing 'otherwise' instruction.
How should I do that?

I want to start music in 'scene 1' then switch to 'scene 2' and hear the music continue  to play until I make it fade out.
No matter what I try now, the music stops abruptly at switching to 'scene 2' point.

When I draw a circle with 'draw circle at center...' block, on android tablet (resolution 1024 x 600 pixel) as well as on the computer screen as flash, the drawn circle looks noticeable pixelated.
It is normal or is there a way to smooth 'draw circle at center...' block outcome?
My antialiasing is ON in Game Settings.

Anyone having an issue with actors or layers transparency when testing /publishing to Linux?

My app uses a transparent layer and transparent actors on visible layers. When testing on Android and on Flash, what should be transparent stays transparent. When testing on Linux, all transparent elements are not transparent.
Could not find anything related in known issues, but decided to ask anyway before reporting a bug.

I use Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit, Stencyl 3.0.

Resolved Questions / [SOLVED] How to set android permissions?

Android's App info shows that the app I created in Stencyl can access the following on the device:
  • full network access
  • Google Play billing service
  • view network connections
  • control vibration
  • prevent tablet from sleeping
Preventing from sleeping is fine, but I don't need the rest.
How to get rid of unwanted permissions?
