Hello! I'm trying to compile/publish to Android on Stencyl 4.0.1 and  I'm getting this error -> "Failed: Running Android. (Return code: 1)"

I have compiled to Android before in 3.5 so I know the basics and think I have set up everything right... but something is apparently missing...? (It works fine to compile to Android in both Unity and Android Studio.)

I have removed my old Android SDK folders from the stencylworks Android-SDK folder, since I now have the Android SDK installed in an other location. ( I don't know if I might have removed something Stencyl related when I did that, but I guess not. )
I might also have deleted some few other folders in the stencylworks folder, since I removed some folders 'that did not sound so important' like the folder 'games-generated', 'android-builds' and some folder named something like ~'Temp' or ~'Logs' ? I did this a long time ago while not using Stencyl for a while, to save space on my OneDrive...  Yesterday I heard that I shall NOT touch the stencylworks folder! I haven't deleted it but I realise that I do have messed with it... I guess it could be good for you to know if that might could cause this compiler error?

Extensions / SP_ValueMixer

Hi, this is my first extension!  8) A small but useful one -> SP_ValueMixer:

Use SP_ValueMixer as an easy way to mix between any two values, value A mixes with value B, use a number between 0.0 and 1.0 to say how much of A shall mix with B.

These are the blocks I have created so far:

So as you can see,  you can also mix colors.

The green block Returns Number
And the blue block Returns Color

 SP_ValueMixer should work on all platforms, and I have only tested on Flash, Android and Windows.

Here is an example, where the MouseY position is used tofade between different values like, Position, Volume, Color:

Ask a Question / Best way to save a separate file?

Hello! :)

I need to be able save several images from within a painting app that I'm working on. I will also need to be able to load those images and delete them from within the app. I need this to work solid on both iOS and Android. ( I also would like to be able to first check if there is enough disk space on the device to save an image, before trying to save it, to prevent crashing. )

What is the best way to do this from Stencyl?

-> I have tried the "Attribute Saving"-extension, it works ok, but it does not seem to keep the files separated, so for each image I save it takes much longer time to save the next one. So all images seems to shear the same data. And I need to have it separated in some way. ( Also I'm clueless about how to see if there is enough disk space on the device, before saving an file. )

Please help with some ideas, thanks in advance!

My android app always restart itself after open a link in browser, using the block 'open URL in browser'? So if I hit the back arrow to switch back to my app, it has jumped back to the start scene. And I have nothing in my code that does that, so it happens when the app "loses focus" and sits idle in the background.

Is there a way I can prevent this?

I also wonder if it is possible to have an app running in the background as long as I want? Now my Stencyl made apps stops or resets to the start scene after idle a longer time in the background. Also timers does not seem to work when the app does not has focus/ is idle.

Hm, "Notify me of replies" on this forum does not work for me? Does it work for you guys? I have checked that "Notify me of replies" box and  I dont have a spam filter, just have blocked some specific IP addresses. Makes me wonder from which IP address do you get the replies from?  :-\

Fixed Bugs (3.x) / Enable Purchases checkbox is "dead"

The Enable Purchases checkbox in Stencyls Game Settings meny is not respected.

So the Android Manifest, never includes the line: <uses-permission android:name="com.android.vending.BILLING" />

And maybe something else is missing, or have changed? Because when I edit the Android Manifest Template myself I still couldn't get the Android Purchases to work? I could before with the NME version...?

Fixed Bugs (3.x) / Android Version Code error

The Android Version Code entered in Stencyls Game Settings meny is not respected. So the final APK end up with any other Version Code.

I noticed that the Version Code in the Android manifest, now seems to auto increase for each build/compile??

The APK Version Code must be right to be able to upload a new APK version at Google Play.

Fixed Bugs (3.x) / How to deactivate ads on Android?

I removed all the premissions in the android manifest file, but then it appears a red text message in my app saying: "You must have INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_permissions to serve ads."?

Hmm ok, but I don't uses ads and I don't want to use them!? So how can I remove this message, without adding in the premissions that I like to remove?
