Fixed Bugs (3.x) / Unexpected error while dragging blocks - build 8085

Hi,

This is the second unexpected error today, both times I was just dragging blocks in design mode, and both times I clicked "force quit".

Dialog Extension / Dialog choice selection issue (simulate key)

Hi,

I'm using the dialog extension for a mobile game. I've managed to simulate "advance dialog" by simulating the appropriate key press and release when the mouse is release, and it works great. As for the dialog options, I'm doing exactly the same thing except with swipes, "swipe up" &"swipe down" for scrolling between the choices, and "swipe right" to select the choice. Scrolling up and down works great, but not selection :(. Maybe it has something to do with how long the selection button is being pressed? I've tried changing the selection key, I've tried using separate events instead of a custom block, but it still won't work.

I've attached screenshots below, here are their details:

Hi,

I wanted to use the style used in the "sample game", so I copied the "dialog" & "data structures" folders from the sample's "extras" folder into the "extras" folder of an existing game. Upon testing the game, I get these errors when I want to "show dialog".

I tried disabling the extension, removing the "dialog" and "data structures", then enable it again and create the style (scaling images/windows/tween) from scratch, but I still get these errors. I read in another thread that I should try changing the "max scale" settings, then change it back, I tried that but no good.

It seems like all the 1.5x PNGs of the four window images are missing, but I have no idea how to fix that or how to generate them.

Hi,

I just renewed my license, so I've been without Android export for months. During that time, I installed FlashDevelop and wanted to learn Haxe, it caused issues with Stencyl so I uninstalled it.
Since yesterday I've been trying to publish to Android but every single time the build fails (flash and windows exports work fine though). I have tried the following:

- uninstalled then installed Stencyl
- uninstalled then installed Haxe
- uninstalled then installed JDK
- installed both Stencyl & JDK to a directory without spaces

I have no idea what to try next. Logs of the last attempt attached. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This is paid work. I'm looking for someone to make a Stencyl extension for a midi synthesizer -FluidSynth is an opensource midi-synth- http://fluidsynth.elementsofsound.org/ .
The extension should work on all platforms. I will use it in a game, and after the game is released, I will release the extension to the developer center. If anyone is interested or have any questions, please reply or PM me your questions and/or your quotation.

Resolved Questions / Is HiDPI support for Windows possible?

I've searched the forums and the internet for HiDPI support or workarounds for Stencyl on Windows, but all I've found is a thread about retina support for Mac. I did open a thread asking about a solution for HiDPI screens (http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,31355.msg179410.html), lowering my screen resolution was suggested, so I did. It works fine now but everything is blurry.

Is HiDPI support coming to Stencyl Windows? If not, do any other solutions exist?

My new work laptop's resolution is 3200x1800 and Stencyl looks so tiny that I can't properly read anything. (screenshot attached to this post)
I tried disabling display scaling in hiDPI settings, didn't work. Any idea how to fix this?

Development Commentary

What spawned this was basically a bet. A friend of mine bet me I couldn't prototype Flappy Bird, to which I replied "gimme 3 hours", it took way longer as you'll find out here. Shortly after said bet, I got a job offer at a newly established videogame publishing company here in Saudi Arabia; I jumped on the opportunity since the gaming scene here is young and the market is just begging to be tapped into. Our first project and highest priority was to study the market and figure out the demographics, and test out a few ad services and figure out which are profitable and which are not. So I was asked to develop a "case study" app that can be launched soon, I only had one game project that just needed polishing and localization to be published, my Flappy Bird clone! The thing is, I didn't want to just make another clone, I wanted to make it a bit different; I added a variety of mechanics to the "pipes". Some move, some shoot bullets, some do both. I also added a wide pipe "almost like a tunnel" that moves, forcing you to carefully navigate through it. I also made a few characters so players can choose between them. All the art assets -except the characters- are from a previous flash game that I made, so that made everything a bit quicker.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy it. I would love to hear your feedback and opinions, and if you have any suggestions or face any problems, please don't hesitate to tell me.

Hi,

I've downloaded and added the Google Analytics Extension (http://community.stencyl.com/index.php/topic,15835.0.html) to a game I'm working on, and I've set up trackers and events throughout the game, but when I try to test or compile the game it gives me a bunch of errors. Hey fellow Stencylers,

I have released my first game in which Stencyl community has helped me a lot, solving problems, getting motivation and ideas.
NG version was done and uploaded yesterday (which was the last version on the list) and I would love to hear what you guys/gals think about it. Be honest, I have no sensitivity.

Ask a Question / Getting an error while implementing third-party API

Hi, I'm trying to make my game submit scores through an API but it either gives me an error and doesn't run or it runs but the score is not submitted to the server. Here's a screenshot of the behavior that checks scores and tells another behavior to submit the score to the server:



Here's the code for the (code mode) behavior that submits scores. When I run the game, I get an error saying "Incorrect number of arguments. Expected 2. takoBridge = new GameTako();"
