Old Bugs (1.x/2.x) / 1x iPad tilesets imported weirdly [b53]
« on: October 16, 2011, 03:06:34 am »

When I import a tileset into my game with a 64x64 tile size at 1x, each tile gets split into four. In the scene designer there are no gaps and it works as if I'd imported it at 32x32, but the tileset takes up four times as much atlas space as it should so I can't test to see how it looks in game.

When I try importing at 32x32 instead, each tile is split into 16 chunks in a similar way.

As a side note, the option to use the same tilesets and actors imported at 2x for retina at 1x for the iPad version would be extremely useful - I can see a lot of people who will want to use 1x versions of the same graphics for the iPad version, but the only way of doing so at the moment is by using multiple identical atlases.

Let the port begin.

Levels are being remade to fit the smaller screen and not be too small and fiddly, and physics has been adjusted from the flash version to feel more realistically like Golf - the ball rolls properly now.

Features on the agenda:
Actually getting 18 holes done

Resolved Questions / Game doesn't open [Resolved]

I was editing my game last night and it was working fine, but since I quit Stencylworks the game refuses to open. Double clicking on the game or Selecting and clicking open game does nothing, but other games, and an older version of the game from forge, open fine.

Oddly, Stencyl also seems to think I have a game open when I don't - it asks me to save when I quit from the Welcome Centre screen.

My zipped up game folder is here

What the topic title says.

Hit F9 (or F3 on newer apple keyboards) on a Mac while Stencyl is open to bring up Exposé and the Stencyl window appears very small in the top left corner of the area where it should be. You can hover and click this whole area and it highlights the area/brings up Stencyl just fine.

I don't know if there's a way to take a screenshot inside expose, so I can't really show an example.

I'm running OSX Snow Leopard, 10.6.7.

Since I suck at keeping going with big projects, I've started something more simple in the last week or so.

Game Page

It's a side view physics based golf game. Eventually it will be expanded to the full 18 holes, with more gameplay mechanics and tilesets. If anyone has any interesting suggestions for obstacles or enviroments, as well as changes to the general gameplay, I'd love to hear them :P
