Hello everyone! So I have yet another question for the forums. I'm curious as to how I would be able to press a button and my character attack and inflict damage. I looked at the RPG Platformer example but was confused whenever I couldn't make the behaviors work with my game. I just want to provide a simple action.

The main character has four different animations with a left and right. I have Idle (left & right), run (left and right), jump (left and right), and attacking (left and right). The attacking already has a sword in the main character animation. The sword is not another actor... it's actually in the animation for attacking.

I want to be able to press the action 2 button (which is x) for the character to switch to the animation of attacking and actually inflict damage on enemies. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could accomplish this?

I wish to make a game where everything keep going up at a constant rate. If the player falls below the screen, they lose. Much like this game's movement: http://www.kongregate.com/games/EpicShadow/tower-of-greed

Are there any kits that may be able to help me out?

Thanks for the help! But I was thinking that the username spot and the token had to be left alone because it's their username. Or I thought I had to make a login for them or something on the flash? Idk, like said I'm confused. I did replace everything that had "Game ID: bla bla bla" and the "PivKey: bla bla bla" but it didn't work. I don't know if it was even able to connect to game Jolt but whenever I tried to achieve the trophy I put on the game... it wouldn't work.

That pastebin link looks like a .as file that should be copied into a freeform code behavior.

Try this?

Save the image on your desktop and then import it into stencyl with your game open.

Yeah that imported all fine and successful but now I'm a bit confused. I have a game ID and key for my game... but how do I use it with this following code? Also in this code... is there a "Unlock trophies" type of script? Idk.. once again I'm bad with AS3. I can see the "add trophy" behavior... but am I able to extract that from the script and use it somewhere else?? Or what here?

It's possible to add most api's. I don't know much about it but someone else might. I believe you put the main bit of it in a freeform arbitrary section in your game when you create a behavior then you call separate parts in scenes or actors with the code block.

Yeah I attempted to do what you said above. I just couldn't get it to work. It was probably my fault mainly but here's the page with all the coding. I find AS3 very confusing as this is why I switched to Stencyl. I typed in my key and ID into the settings and I made an event on the scene where it's supposed to unlock the medal... what have I done wrong?

Rather than the "Do after 2 seconds" event I have also tried a "When Created" as well. None of which worked. The medal title is correct.

As an addition to my game, I wish to create a death counter. My game has no health but rather... it uses a "Collision with a certain type of actor" = "reload scene" type behavior. Is there any way I can make a death counter to correspond to the collision of the other actors?

Hey everyone! I'm officially stuck on how to create a checkpoint. I want the actor to be able to collide with the checkpoint and the checkpoint disappear. If the scene was to reload, the actor will spawn in the same place as the checkpoint. Please help.

Sure. When you set the animation, set it like this:

Set animation to [as animation(anim-type + modifier)]

Where anim-type and modifier are both text. Anim-type will be your basic actions like "jump" and "run". Modifier can start out blank and then be changed to something like "with_gun" when the weapon is picked up.

Glad to say this was your 500th post ;). And thanks for trying to help but is there any behaviors on the StencylForge that allows what I'm looking for to happen?

I'm creating a game where you don't have a weapon starting off. In the middle of the stage, there's a weapon that you're able to pick up. After you pick up the weapon, you're able to use it...

My character has 6 different animations. Example

Run
Jump
Idle

Run_With Gun
Jump_With Gun
Idle_With Gun

Is there an example anyone can point me too as to how I could make it so that my character picks up the gun.. and it switches his animations to him holding the gun? Any ideas? Any would be much appreciated! :)
