Hello fellow Stencylers, I’m Zach DeStefano, recent high school graduate and Founder of Z-Licious Games LLC, and I have just recently launched my fourth mobile game, "Get Off My Planet," for Apple and Android devices.

"Get Off My Planet" relies on quick reactions as players jump from planet to planet and explore a variety of hostile locations. Obstacles attack the player from all sides, requiring them to think fast, move quickly, and get off my planet! Avoid crushing pillars, space station lasers, piercing ice spikes, and even huge living chess pieces. The game features retro graphics, a dynamic soundtrack, and simple swipe controls. It is easy to learn but difficult to master. Do you have what it takes to swipe your way through all twenty waves perfectly?

Thank you for trying it (and feel free to share it with your friends!).  I appreciate the feedback on the icons and the grey.  Let me know any other feedback, good, and also where improvements can be made - this is my third game and I'm trying to get better each time, and have some fixes/updates I want to make to this one.

The icon site looks cool...I will give that a try!  I currently use Adobe Fireworks to make a lot of the icons and graphics, but I'm interested in learning about other tools.

Help me with some enhancements, please!   I have a few things I want to correct in the game and some additions to make.  If you could download it (free download) and give me your ideas on what should change or be added, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks.

Just launched my newest Stencyl game - Tiny Miner for iOS and Android - free  download. 

  • Guide your ship to mine the ore in the underground cavern to earn Miner Dollars
  • Miner Dollars can be used to upgrade shields and strengthen power-ups
  • Simple controls - touch the screen to go up and fight the downward pull of gravity

Can you pin it down to specific iOS versions?  I've had some strange issues with using tilt screen for player movement where it works on some iOS devices but not others...same for Android as well...very frustrating to solve.

Pretty cool also how did you get those 2500 downloads were you just telling all your friends or did you do more than that?

Not sure how I received that many.  I didn't really market this app...just got lucky with it.

I see about 1,200 on gamecenter leaderboards.. Tho I didn't see a gamecenter button in-game, or maybe I missed it?  Anyways - for these type games, having a gamecenter quick link in-game would be nice.  Also, have some goals... Like bronze, silver and gold depending how well you do.

Not sure why only 1200 on Game Center as iTunesConnect shows about 1900 downloads (plus 600 on Google Play).  Good suggestion about the Game Center button and ranks.  I'll incorporate that into the next version.

I coded this simple but challenging free game in about 4 days.  Graphically it is very simple, but as the game progresses, it gets very challenging.  The controls are simple...touch either half of the screen to make the block in that half "jump".


The iOS version incorporates Game Center leaderboards, achievements, and iAds.  The Android version uses Chartboost.

One thing to be careful of when using GameCenter is making sure you use the EXACT spelling in Stencyl for achievements and leaderboards that you use in  iOS Connect when you first set everything up.  I've had issues during testing where I misspelled in Stencyl and could not figure out why the achievement was not triggering.  It is best to use very clear naming conventions.  For example, in my game Duality, I use "dualityleveltwo" as an achievement for reaching Level 2.  You put this in the id section in Stencyl when reporting the achievement.

Thanks!  I'm having trouble figuring that out.  I've seen that exact behavior on an iPad 4 (just tonight), but it works properly on an iPad2 and on an iPhone 5s, 5c, and 4s. 

I have AutoRotate turned off in the code, so I'm not sure why on the mini and the iPad4  it is flipping the orientation when rotating.  If anyone has any suggestions or has seen something similar, I'd be curious to hear how it was solved.

Hi all,

I'm a high school student and made 8-Bit Beatdown with Stencyl last year.  You tilt the screen to move your avatar, hacking away at the never-ending  enemies and collecting coins and treasure chests which contain weapons and armor updates.  The in-game joystick controls the direction of your sword.  The iOS version features Game Center leaderboards. 

I recently updated it to include iAds for iOS and Chartboost for Android.  Since launching last year, the game has had over 15,000 downloads.
