Ask a Question / Re: Player not "walking" when on elevator
« on: June 13, 2016, 08:58:31 pm »
Thanks to everyone for the assist. JefferyDriver, you nailed it! it had to be tiles. I tried switching to all other types but that because I was afraid it would stop the movement of the platform. It works now. Thanks so much. Now to fix the bug of the elevator stopping if the player leaves the area of the elevator and then comes back. I'm thinking its a if/then issue.

Thanks for responding.
I used the standard walking behavior and the Elevator movement vertical behavior. I attached the walking to the player and the elevator movement to the platform.  I've also tried the platform motion and Ride Platforms behavior. So my assumption is,  since gravity is applied like the "ground" but it is a moving actor, There should be a way to get the gravity effect on a moving actor.

Ask a Question / Player not "walking" when on elevator
« on: June 12, 2016, 02:24:03 pm »
Hello, I had this problem when i first started where the players animation of walking would not work, the player would just slide left and right. I fixed that by adding gravity (duh) well, I have a lifting and dropping elevator and when the player stands on it, he slides around again. I checked and the gravity is in effect on the platform. What do I need to do?I have been looking for solutions for a week now.

.
You probably haven't set gravity in the scene.
You know, I had but I guess I hadn't. You were right. Thank you so much. I knew I missing something basic

This is frustrating. the only thing that looks different in scene 2 is there is a little red square over the heros face in the inventory box. there character will slide back and forth but the animation will not play and he will not jump. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

well eventually the customize option appeared in the inspector and all the behaviors are there but the player just slides left and right... I will figure this out..

I have made a side scroller. after he gets to the region box, it fades and the next scene opens. The player does not move. I am assuming this is because it doesn't have the walking behavior attached. Is there a way for the behaviors to follow the players to the next level? Thanks.

well yeah, the characters stop moving when the player stops moving them. Once all characters are in their portals, the scene changes.

I am working on a game that each character is controlled separately. I want to make it so the levels change when each character is placed in their individual portals. I attached a screen shot. Any help would be appreciated. I have already made the characters operate separately by hitting C and they rotate through the line up pl 1 pl 2 etc.
