Completed all the levels with gold medal. How long until the next batch?  :)
How long until Android :p I'm really going to have to get an ios device! Haha

Another couple of weeks before the android release, an update to the iOS version will be live in about 2 weeks.

Great! Congrats for feature. I think it is better than other games you released and one of the best games made by Stencyl.

Thanks very much! although it's definitely not better than Wrassling, ill never do anything better than Wrassling.

Do you recommend I make any changes? I'm in the process of doing my first update to a live game that has the SDK10 extension etc.

Let's say I had a huge scene, 1000+ tiles horizontal and vertically. Would that degrade performance? Or is it not an issue as those tiles aren't drawn?

And what about actors? Let's say I had 1000's of actors off screen and they weren't set to always update, would those be a problem?

my game wheelie legend is 5500 32pix tiles long XD

thats just tiles and a couple of actors.

Wheelie 2 is 16k 32pix tiles long, but this version the terrain is drawn so no tiles and just a few actors.

Feature is Kinda expected ;) Is there any game that you missed it?

My first game Wheelie Legend didn't get a feature. My Second game Golf is Hard got Best new games in Europe only, and the feature only lasted for 4 days as it was right after Christmas.

That could be an option, but I see it as risky, you are then having to deal with things like, if advert is closed reload scene, then if an advert fails to show or is delayed you could find yourself stuck on the game over scene, also if people are playing without internet my current set up would just pause the game on reload then you press resume, where as the other option would be waiting for an advert to close that is never coming. There is probably ways to do it with if advert fails to load etc. I feel I took the safer option.

Just downloaded. Loving the game so far! The concept works out really well and it's a lot of fun.

However, I will mention a few things that could be improved:

1. The ads. There are simply too many. This is mainly a problem when you're dying a bunch of times in quick succession. Perhaps you could base the frequency of ads on time instead, and only show them after the player has just died or completed a level. It's annoying when one shows up right as you start moving.

2. The hitbox on the ground spikes is too large. Often I get spiked when it looks like I'm not even touching them.

3. I would like to be able to move the aim arrow just a bit faster, but maybe that's just me.

But again, amazing game, and congrats on the feature!

P.S. I'm curious about that beautiful banner feature. Does Apple ask you for banner artwork in advance of the release?

Thanks, yeah actually a timer would be better, I may look into that in future updates. It was tricky finding a good place to show the adverts with this one, you would think it would be as simple as show advert on death, however, have you noticed you die on almost every level just as you make the shot XD I actually try to kill you so I can move the camera to the ball. So the advert would so as the ball is going into the hole. Also showing one as the score board shows up didn't feel right, kind of like "well done, now here is your punishment"

So advert on scene start after a restart is not ideal, but I stand by it being the best placement for this game.

We are really happy to have Golf Zero included in this Celebrating Indies promotion on the App Store, got big banners on the front page on most stores.

I will update with download and revenue numbers when I get them.

Good luck with the release!

I should mention letmethink did a bunch of work for Golf Zero such as the character movement set up and the screen drag.
Liberado also made a behaviour for a pendulum blade.

the game itself is pretty far removed from actual golf, I'm not a fan of the sport myself, I just like the mechanics behind it.

Are you not supposed to attach this to your one way platform. then on the platform you have 2 animations, 1 is solid and 1 has no collision, or a sensor collision.

Yeah you are not supposed to do that, I asked admob about it a while back and they said no. There are plenty of good reward video extensions available in stencyl though, use one of them!

I guess it is possible, It is surprising that a featured game that is free wouldn't have more players. The game dose look a tad dull and doesn't have an app preview video so that could be a factor. Other factors could be a Game Center bug that means some scores are not being logged.
