Ask a Question / Re: Stencyl Subscription
« on: January 26, 2015, 08:53:14 am »
The people in charge of dealing with payments are very busy but are doing their best. I can't speak on behalf of them or in this specific situation but I know that they do their best and so you've just got to be patient. If the subscription is urgent, you may want to purchase it a day or two before you need it.

I run services myself and I can understand how busy things get.
What I would never do for certain is leave a customer in Limbo.
No clue about what's going on. The only response was an automatically generated email from an invalid email address (noreply@stencyl missing TLD).
Now I have just been billed $1

Why is it such a pain to renew a Stencyl license?
I think the makers of this tools are good techies but terrible business people.
I sent a sales inquiry and the say I may have to wait a few business days to get a response - in this day and age!
Also, they need to manually verify each purchase - like really!
After using the Studio license for 1 year I can't publish an update to my game because the makers of the IDE are superheroes in a space station that require special communication in order to respond to a request.

I wouldn't have felt disappointed if this was a totally free tool, but if people are paying you need to at least respond.

Fixed Bugs (3.x) / Re: Global Custom Block Storage

Such an annoying error message.
I thought I was doing something wrong with my global custom code block by referencing the game attributes.
I finally settled for just a custom block which I had to create all over in the different behaviors I needed to use that code in.
That's not very nice for attribute scope...

Fixed Bugs (3.x) / Re: Names of Scenes get erased after opening 3.1

Thanks Justin,

I noticed the other thread on this subject (,32889.0.html) , and I can confirm that this happened to me after using WhoUsesThis for the first time. I'm running 3.1.0 (b7305.)

I have just reproduced the problem using WhoUsesThis once again.

Is there a newer build available? I'm just using the free version at the moment.

No fix for this problem still in 3.1
To image an issue like this exists in Stencyl and nothing was done about it.
I can't even start with 3.2 now because it caused my games from previous versions to quadruple in size.
Now I'll have to manually rename all my scenes!

Finally something of importance for the Android folks.
Has anyone tested the extension yet, what's the experience with integration like?

So it appears Parse and Nugetta have taken a one-way ticket to the graveyard of startups.
What went wrong?
