Ask a Question / Re: Drawing a trail with a moving camera
« on: September 29, 2015, 02:40:41 pm »
If I understood your question correctly, adding this block before drawing the trail:

and this one after:

should solve your problem.

Just searched for a similar question and this works perfectly. Thank you

Ask a Question / Re: Stencyl to Windows Phone

Are there any plans on the making to make stencyl publish to windows phone?

You might wanna wait for the Windows 10 store to launch end of next month.
By then, you can just submit your Android APK.

And do you think this is realistic? (APK for win 10)

Ask a Question / take snapshot from scene
« on: May 10, 2015, 02:29:21 pm »
Is there a way to make the game take a snapshop of the current scene and create an actor with it?

That would make what I'm doing so much more fluid if it would be possible.

thanks in advance.

Resolved Questions / Re: This piece of code is crashing my program

NEWS NEWS: it works!

I don't know why, I spend half a day yesterday trying to figured it out but I just compile it one more time today and now it works perfectly.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Are you subtracting 1 from [player goods]? The random index that you should grab is 0 to 'number of items in list -1'.

Yes, I did. Here is better view of the code. I do use #of item in x - 1

Also regarding the 2nd help post: The attached code called Neutral goods works perfectly and so I decided to use the same type to do this one, so I copied first and changed the list and variables. I also had the same idea as you, that maybe the helper variable was already in use, so I created PGOODS just for this piece of code.

Now, you may ask why I decided to manually input the coordinates instead of having a simpler code attached to an actor type. The answer is that since I played around with the rotation angles of the actors in the scene, if I use the same code, it will not be a precise placement(to say the least) of the new actors.

Resolved Questions / This piece of code is crashing my program
« on: May 05, 2015, 09:23:46 am »
I have this piece of code which I use to randomly assign different players different goods but it seems to be crashing the whole thing.

I have used the same exact same type of code before(set a variable to a random # from a list, apply action according to variable, remove item# from list, repeat.)
I don't get where I went wrong on this one.

On Created it invokes the block playergoods which then invokes playergoodsplacer 6 times.

thanks in advance for the help.

Ask a Question / Which is lighter? more animations or more actors?
« on: May 05, 2015, 04:13:43 am »
besides the logistics problems posed with the "zelda dilemma" show on the help page for animations, is it easier for your system to handle two animations for the same actor or killing an actor in order to replace him with another one(or simply create another actor on top of the previous one?)

Ask a Question / Re: Clicking to remove tiles not working
« on: April 22, 2015, 07:06:51 am »
wow! This is the third attempt at a solution and none was working and now I realised that on my game settings it was set to simple physics instead of box2d.  My previous attempt was probably also good.

I just did what you suggested and it works perfectly. thanks.

I did try a variant of what you said.

I had the mouseclick create an actor at x,y of mouse and then check if there is collision between the newly created actor and the actor(triangle tile) under it...and then kill both of them. It did not work. maybe because since it's stationary and did not move into the collision area(it is already in it)

I will try your suggestion...thanks

It seems that this behaviour does not work on ver 3.3

Is there something equivalent I could use instead?

thanks I downloaded it and placed it on my game but now it crashes. lol

I scanned the forum for that behaviour and found this:,30766.0.html

It's not stencyl 3 compatible :(

So I'm back to square 1 with this...

Ask a Question / Clicking to remove tiles not working
« on: April 21, 2015, 02:38:07 am »
I have created triangular tiles which I draw on scene using the event "hide tiles"(attached). This works perfectly and it covers the scene that I have there already. However, my plan is to have a behavior on these actors(tiles) where if they are mouseclicked, they disappear. (this is the killing tiles behavior also in attachment).

The result of the clicking is both successful and unsuccessful. It works because if I click on the tiles, it does remove the one I clicked(90% of the times) but lots of times(like 40% of the times) he also removes multiple tiles at once(the one I clicked and 1 or 2 adjacent ones)

On the actor properties - Collision, I even tried replacing the standard rectangle boundary for a triangle but it made no difference.

thanks in advance for any help

Ask a Question / Center view question
« on: April 01, 2015, 08:36:15 am »
I know probably there was a better way to start what I'm doing but because of hurrying to test some features I ended up creating a scene way bigger than my browser window.
My question now is: is there a simple way to center the view on a specific point of the scene so that point is centered in the browser view?

I tried "move camera to (specific actor)" but it didn't do anything.

It's not extremely important but it gets a bit annoying always to have to scroll to the point which I want to check out ;)

Ask a Question / Re: Drawing on custom events
« on: May 29, 2014, 08:32:25 am »
and do I still need to call it with the "when ... happens" thing? or is it simply two draw events running at the same time, all the time?

Extensions / Re: Extra Mouse Buttons

oh, that's a pity  ;)

are there any extensions that might do that? or is it simply something that flash won't do?
