I just checked out a few of your videos, they're good! The 'thinking not required' is especially good.
Thank you very much! It's a new channel but it's getting better over time.

Ask a Question / iOS Resolution
« on: August 26, 2015, 03:15:16 pm »
Is it still a good idea to use the 320X480 resolution for iOS apps or is it fine to start to use the 4" display as standard and support the 6 and 6+ sizes as well?

Chit-Chat / Re: Stencyl monthly payment plan

It would be interesting if Stencyl had a pay-per export system. You could export games to IOS and stuff without a annual subscription, but every export costs 30$?, and every update 15$? If you buy the annual indie, IOS, or Studio subscription, you wouldn't be charged on exports. This way, people still have a incentive to buy the annual upgrade if they plan on releasing many games, but people who only plan on releasing one or two games, could still do that without buying the annul upgrades. Stencyl could make money of Annual subscriptions and individual exports, I think this could maximize Stencyl's income.  Just my opinion.

This could theoretically work but it'd have to be more like $50 or more per export. There has to be huge incentive to buy a annual plan.
I think a cheaper export would probably work better because more people would feel like making a gamble and trying to "get lucky" with their games. If I could export my games for say $25, I would feel a lot safer about exporting the game, then if I had to spend $50.  The cheaper you make it, the more people will buy exports, but you have to find number that balences both of them.

Well of course people will buy more exports if they are cheaper. But $30 doesn't make any sense for Jon.

This is great for developers but not so great for Stencyl. One of the big problems with the subscription model is that developers only really need it briefly once or a few times every year and Stencyl doesn't have much reasoning for the annual model except for that it needs the money (which I understand) and that it provides "customer-only forums".

That said, I don't know if Stencyl could survive with monthly plans if people just bought a month, exported all their games and then cancelled their subscriptions.

Are there any free web hosting? That is good.
No. I've used 1freehosting and it works. Sort of. Don't use it if you can pay.

Is it any good?

No. Avoid it if possible.

is dollar hosting good? and do you have to buy a domain as well im guessing?
They aren't anything special but they work well and I've had no problems - can't complain for $12 a year. And yes you do have to buy a domain which I recommend doing through NameCheap.
