News / Re: Does Stencyl.exe not launch Stencyl for you? Help us out.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I have, uh, the 64 bit JDK SE 7 and JRE 7 and the 32 bit JRE 6, so I wasn't really surprised when the first launcher didn't work. -_-

I got the old launcher to work by setting its compatibility mode to Windows 7. Which freaked me out a little since I'm, y'know, running Windows 7.

Anyways, here's config.log from the new launcher:

Suggestion Archives / Re: Mini-Suggestion Thread

Some (hopefully) small GUI things I've wanted....
  • Set default attribute type in the "Create an attribute...." dialog to "Number" instead of "Actor."
  • Add ability to change the license of a resource in StencylForge without re-uploading it.
  • Allow 'updating' a resource through StencylForge. Re-'sharing' a resource from a game is a bit weird to me, and appears to be undocumented on Stencylpedia.
  • Behavior attribute presets. It'd be nice for behaviors with a lot of attributes.
  • Remember last open page on StencylForge. Currently it only remembers the category, not whether it's on "Featured" or "Newest" or whatever.
  • Mention somewhere that StencylForge resource descriptions are in HTML? (This is intentional, right?) It's a bit awkward not knowing why all your newlines get zapped whenever you submit it.
  • Ability to copy+paste actors in scene editor. (Although, from the fact this isn't in there, I'm assuming this is harder than it seems.), yeah. Stencyl 2.0 made the GUI much better, though, so I can't complain too much. Thanks. : P

I duplicated, with the option from the contextual menu, my 'Draw Text in Center' behavior to make the problem one. Could that have caused it? I didn't change anything by hand in the game folder.

It actually worked for a while like that, though. (That's how I know the behavior's awful, since the lines of text really weren't aligned in any normal way.) Then it just stopped, seemingly as soon as I added the 'Total Text Height' attribute. (Or however I worded it.)

I made some graphics for Blue Box.

They're in tileset form, so you'll have to separate them yourself. If you used them, give credit.

Old Bugs (1.x/2.x) / Game refuses to compile with a certain behaivor

I've attached the logs and the game.

The problem behavior is 'Draw Multiple Lines of Text in Center' a (horrible, I'll admit) behavior I'm working on to draw multiple lines of text in the center of an actor.

When I try to test the game with the behavior in there, even when it's not tied to an actor or a specific actor in a scene, it'll go through the progress bar motions but not start the flash player. Same with exporting, except it brings up an error message of 'Unable to export SWF to home folder. (Could not write)'.

As soon as I delete that behavior everything works great.

I might've done something wrong in coding that behavior, but the lack of an error message would be the bug, I guess.

Great program, by the way. I was seriously convinced it was going to be vaporware, but it was worth the wait. :D
