Finished my first Ludum Dare game! (And by extension, first game too...)
It can be found here if you're interested :).

It's missing a lot of features, but it's the best I could do with my limited skillset in 48 hours. :P

Congrats on the release Rhys!

149 USD = 491 PLN (according to google)= 95% of my monthly payment (540 PLN)... Not interested, sorry.

Darkhog, I'm sure you'll find that it is the equivalent of $12.42 per month. Or for me, £7.94 per month. Assuming a minimum wage of about £5, that's less than 2 hours work every month to pay for your iStencyl alone. Maybe 4 hours if you want to factor in Apple Dev costs as well? :)

Well, looks like the perfect time to set up a Mac partition. :)

Are you planning to let the player click in multiple collision shapes on the text input actor, or move a cursor around (perhaps another actor on top of the "keyboard")?

Yeah, I'll be doing a cursor selection to keep with the style. Seems the most logical choice here :)

Currently working on a text input system:

Managing to keep going with this is surprisingly hard.

Looking nice; though I'd advise you keep tilesets in similar colours for that authentic look (NES has a very limited onscreen palette!). I assume this game will play like the original Megaman games, too? :) Anyway, looking forward to how this will turn out!

One of my favourite indie games is Bastion, though I'm probably going to get To The Moon. I'd agree with any mentions of The Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy and Cave Story; though I'm probably missing out so many great games from this list!

I personally have yet to play any of the GTA games - they just don't seem very much like what I'd enjoy. Though to be fair, I prefer proper narratives to sandboxes anyway. What is the appeal to them outside of the sandbox? I might give them a try at some point.

make sure to have lots of spreadsheets. Also have your ship blow up for no good reason

Upcoming features include Ship-to-Ship Combat (i.e. two dots orbiting until one dies) and arbitrary skills. I might have to include a spreadsheet for good measure though. :)

The screenshot reminds me of Game Boy games.

Yeah, I'm wanting it to look like an old Game Boy game. :)

I signed up quite a while ago, though haven't really been driven to make any games until this idea came along:

I aim to capture the feel (or lack thereof) of EVE online in just 4 colours, and in a (hopefully) parodic way.
No idea when it will be done, but I hope it'll be worth your time! :)

The humble bundle is a really great buy - I'd highly recommend it. Have all 3 of them :)
