Ask a Question / 6 Plus green screen
« on: November 23, 2015, 03:10:14 pm »
Hey guys, I just released my first game and I've had a couple of people tell me that with their iPhone 6 plus its displaying a green screen and nothing else. Any ideas? I need to get that fixed.

iPhone / iPad / Android / I Am Bird

After some serious art issues, my first game is officially released! I Am Bird is about a cat that just wants to be a bird. So it's your job to tap the fluff ball and help him fly to the nest in each level. Of course, the birds aren't too happy about his presence, so be sure to avoid them at all cost.

It can be a bit tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, I think it's pretty fun. Even though i'm completely worn out on it from testing across so many different devices.

As of now it's only for iOS, but I'll get add it to android soon.

Update: I don't know why the mute attribute was loading false from the first time I opened it, but it turned out adding a save right after turning it on/off solved the problem. I had originally let the main menu load save data which kept it from changing as well. Made a black screen prior to the actual game show up for like half a second to load everything. After a good bit of tweaking I got that solved, in case anyone was wondering what happened.

All that's left now is testing on my 6s, which still has me baffled.

This is what I get when I try to build in Xcode:

Command /Applications/ failed with exit code 2

Edit: Also, even though I feel silly for not even checking if Stencyl had a built in mute behavior, the problem is that it's only loading Booleans I make now as false, and I can't change them. Could this be due to the latest release? I didn't make the mute option until after I upgraded to it. All previous attributes are working normally.

Is there a mute behavior that actually comes with it? If so I'm going to feel pretty silly. I did look into one on the stencyforge that was exactly what I made myself.

I've never used Xcode to run a project, but in sure I can figure it out. Thank you I'll let you know how that goes when I'm able to try them.

Okayyyy... Um... Are you having one of these issues as well? Either way thanks for making me realize I missed the logs myself. I'll have to post those when I'm back at my computer.

So I'm like 99.99999% finished with my game but I have two problems left. Both have me rather baffled.

1. As I've mentioned on here before I'm getting the "computer mismatch" error, but I'm all out of options from my week or two worth of forum searching. This only happens with my 6s. Everything is set so that it should be working, and I'm running the latest version of stencyl.

2. I've made a mute button, and ended up pulling hair over it not working. Then I realized that despite the attribute being set to true, it is always false so the game is always muted. There aren't any rooms or objects triggering this, unless I overlooked it 80 times.

Once I get these issues sorted out my game will be finished, aside from uploading one animation. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got it to work on my 5s, but it's still giving that error with my 6s. Both iOS 9.1

Yeah. Here we go. Thanks by the way, you've been a ton of help so far.

I fixed that. For whatever reason it was 323. Jut a block out of place (BARELY). Problem now is that I'm back at the iOS mismatch. Oy vey.

So let's say that it goes from 321 to 323. And searching for 322 specifically doesn't bring it up either. Then what?

Is there a way to find out which one that is or do I just have to look through everything?

I'm not getting the iOS Mismatch error anymore, but I'm still having problems. Every solution I've found on here has done nothing for me. It's not giving me a specific error message now so maybe something changed in the logs that I'm missing? I've included them in case anyone has time to look through and help me out.

I'm still having this issue. I've updated to the latest build (the 3.4.0 beta), but that didn't help. When I tried editing the files mentioned above again it told me I couldn't because "the file cannot be parsed". I'm at a loss here.

You need to edit the actual templates - not the ones for your project, or they will get overwritten. The first edit is now part of the latest private release. The latter one I need confirmation on before I check it in.

That's what I did.
