Ask a Question / Re: Draw text script not running
« on: July 24, 2015, 11:47:31 am »
Thanks for your help. I'm just figuring this out as I go. This is my first Stencyl project and I didn't imagine that this little function would be as complicated as it is. I'll keep working on it.

What would you have done differently?

After fussing with it more it's not working again.

Thanks for the tips! Changing it to a custom event solved part of the problem.

I changed the pause function to a boolean that makes my player stop moving. That's working pretty well except that my player continues to have some forward momentum which messes up the location for drawing my actors.

Thanks. I actually tried that too with the same results. I've tried the x and y at different values between 0 and 350 before trying the camera block.

I went ahead and tried it again with x and y at 0, same results.

I need some text to draw after a few seconds delay. The logs are showing the print commands, but the text does not appear on the screen. The piece that isn't working is highlighted in red.

Any ideas for remedies or work arounds? Much obliged.

Resolved Questions / Solved: How to view the print debug console

I've added a few lines to print some different variables. I've read the instructions in Stencylpedia, but I must be missing something. I'm testing the game in Flash Player 11 and when I hit the `, nothing happens. What might be wrong with my method? Thanks.

Ask a Question / Positioning an actor
« on: July 23, 2015, 02:14:41 pm »
I've got a horizontally scrolling platformer game where I would like to draw the actor flashcard when the player collides with a plus actor. The following script works before the player moves to the right.  After the camera has followed the player to the right, the flashcard actor winds up off hanging off the left side of the screen or off screen. Any ideas how I can remedy this will be greatly appreciated!
